With the 6th pick in the 2k7 Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks take...

Yi Jianlian?

What are they thinking? I'm thinking a trade a la Stevie Franchise to the Vancouver Grizz a few years back.

Is The Yi Movement over?

Trading...
There is no way the bucks hold on to this pick. They drafted Yi for trade bait. Just watch.

What a WASTE
Imagine how Yi feels knowing he's headed to Milwakuee...all bad

THE FUNNIEST PART.
THE FUNNIEST WILL BE IF NOBODY CARES, AND NOBODY TRADES AND BUCKS WASTED A PICK BECAUSE CHINA THINKS: WHERE IS MIL-WALK-E

You gotta be kidding me..
The Bucks haven't even seen him play in person?

Del Harris coached Yi
and he is the Bucks's GM's daddy

actually this might be a good thing
If Yi doesn't want to play there a la steve francis, he can be had for cheap

by ThermoElectro on Jun 28, 2007 5:13 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

milwaukee didnt even work him out
a big reason why I think this pick is bull.

Monta might be a good fit...
if they think they can mold him into a PG

by ThermoElectro on Jun 28, 2007 5:15 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

man if Yi ends up there ... i'll be mad!
Do you think they would trade for Ellis?

by YaoButtaMing on Jun 28, 2007 5:15 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

dumb move by the bucks
I'm still wondering why they took him...

by Caught Backcourt on Jun 28, 2007 5:16 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Thing is I can't see what we have the bucks would
want

J-rich doesn't fit and Monta is not a legit point

by Zig on Jun 28, 2007 5:17 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Only local W's fans know that..
Most people outside of CA probably think he can be a PG.

Please like they don't have
scouts

I could see that by watching him for a few games

by Zig on Jun 28, 2007 5:21 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

yes, the same scouts that said..
Dunleavy is a great shooter right?

if anything....
milwaukee might take ellis and a second rounder.
just my guess.

A trade
waiting to happen, I can totally see it.  If not then a disaster.  You could see that Yi wasn't that pleased with it and I bet his people and the Chinese government are furious now.  He refused to work out in Milwaukee and they still drafted Yi.....okay.....that makes sense........................

by semarubaka on Jun 28, 2007 5:24 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Focusing on the Bucks for a sec.....
As soon as they took Yi, I thought "Trade Bait"....but what do the Bucks need?  Do the Warriors have what the Bucks need?

Plus - who did the Bucks pass on that may have helped them?  Picking a player who doesn't want to play for you is a bit risky as others have said.

Or was this an elaborate scheme by Nellie/Mullin?  A lot of people pointed to the #5 pick by Boston as a key pick.  Well, maybe it was the Bucks instead!

Milwaukee here
This was a great pick by Larry Harris.

First of all Steven Smith claiming they've never seen him is bunk.  He didn't work out for them last week, but scouting took care of that early & Larry's dad Del did coach Yi for awhile.

Question:  Why wouldn't a franchise take the best player on the board?  Answer:  there is no reason.

Larry Harris called Dan Fegan's bluff and will only trade him if the deal suits his needs.  And no they aren't gonna accept Ellis & a second round pick.  Sorry.
