This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Im sad but excited
So Long J-Rich, Welcome Brandan and Marco! I think Mullin and Nelly did a good job, as long as those guys stay healthy, hey there's still free agent signing.

Dampier
Agree, for the most part, but you lost me on Damp. There is no way in a million years Damp improved the team. Yea, he had his moments, but the other 80% was made with boneheaded mistakes and just plain carelessness. Not to mention the fact that he thought he was the ish. Shaq put him in his place when he said he's the best center in the wnba

salary dump
the rationale for doing this deal has to be a salary dump.  Wright is a bit of an unknown.

Waaahhhhhhhhhhhh!
Sorrry, but that list has nothing to do with anything. There's nothing we can do now about losing Arenas, or not drafting Kobe, or TMac, or KG when we had the chance, or trading McHale and Parish for Joe Barry Carroll, or the time you could have bought a bunch of Google stock in 1995.

All we can do is look forward and try to improve this team. I think we'll look back in a year or so and say this deal was an absolute steal. We may not, obviously, but sometimes in life you gotta take risks.

I'm happy to hear legit arguments why it's a mistake to trade an above-average shooting guard for a potential superstar power foward with freakish atheticism, great hands, and a 7'4" wingspan. But it's totally unfair to Mullin and Nellie to whine about water that's long since passed under the Bay Bridge.

the more I think about the trade....
the more I like it.  Sure J Rich is a warrior for life, but now the Dubs are much closer to competing with the western conference powerhouses.  With Biedrins and Wright, rebounding should not be a problem.  We move Jax to SG and Al to SF and we have a very big and fast starting five.  This team is perfect for Nellie's system.

RE:the more I think about the trade......
The more I think about the trade, the more upset I become. This was a horrible trade for the warriors save the cap room. If they felt the need to trade J-Rich, they should have received a lot more for him.
Wright is not the low post threat they so desperatley need and will not help with the rebounding, just look at his college stats! I just hope this does not set us back.

let's see
6 boards in 27 minutes in a tough conference. that translates to approx. 10 boards per 48. i think he'll be able to grab a few
