Artest Wants to Stay In Sactown

i just came across this on espn.com

"I really want to finish my career in Sacramento because of my relationship with some of the players," Artest said, according to the Post. "I want to finish with Sacramento. I feel attached to Sacramento. I want to be their franchise player."

the link is

damn, i was looking forward to having action jackson and artest on the same team, but it looks like he wants to stay put.

Artest Wants to Stay In Sactown
Oaktown is so close to sacto that I bet Ron-ron could be persuaded to play over here and still keep some ties to that area. Just need to make him a tempting offer and point out that we would have a good chance of winning a champsionship if he signs on with Baron, Jax, and crew.

Do you really believe anything he says?
I mean honestly...this is a guy who has definately eaten way too many paint chips as a kid.  Whatever he says, he probably means the opposite.  Did you believe him when he was sorry for what he did to that poor fan that didn't even throw the bottle at him?  I can see him being moved somewhere other than SacTown.

I
don't even know why Sac would want him. It's pretty obvoius they're going in to a rebuilding mode, they might as well trade him and Bibby along with Brad Miller to try to get some pieces to build around Kevin Martin and Hawes.

Ron Artest
If Ron Ron is really spitting the truth, then it's more than likely we'll see Mike Bibby moved outta Sactown. I don't really know if the rumors of both of these players saying that they can't get along with each other is true, but Sacramento better move at least one of these guys. I am still scratching my head on why would they wanna draft Spencer Hawes a.k.a. Brad Miller Pt. 2? It really looks like Sactown won't be able to compete in the short run and is in rebuilding mode. What Artest is practically saying is that he wants to be a mentor on a rebuilding club. He doesn't wanna win a championship now. Regardless of his idiosyncrasies, Artest showcased his talents as a defensive stopper with an array of offensive abilities during his brief stints of hey-days. It would be worth the risk to acquire him, but then again we have Stephen "Ron Artest with Talent" Jackson. I'd say we'd be better off without Ron Ron and wait for any word on the KG front ;)

I think you got the nickname wrong
It's Stephen "Ron Artest but with less crazy and less talent" Jackson.

The only reason we're even talking about Artest is (like T.O.) because he is supremely talented.  Jax is great but he's not quite the unique talent that Artest is.

LMAO
It warms my heart Ron wants to stay in Sacto because of close relations with some of the players.  If we know nothing else, we know how meaningful relationship work out with Ron.  I wonder if he means some of the cellmates he might been considering hugging at the County jail if he ever has to spend any of the 20 days he was given for his spousal abuse conviction.

Why do we waste our time on this guy!  Although quite talented, he isn't tall by NBA standards, takes way too many shots and demands the ball on a team who already has a couple of ex-Pacers who fill that role, has a shorter and scarier fuse than Jumping Jax, and as many have said, may be clinically mentally ill.

Let him stay in Sacto and forget he was ever considered as a possible player for the Warriors.

Artest is a freak-in a bad way!
"I mean honestly...this is a guy who has definately eaten way too many paint chips as a kid."

As Larry The Cable Guy would say, "I don't care who you are, thats funny!"   Great line MDawg.  Artest is a piece of garbage.  He is a really gifted player that truly has mental/societal issues.  He even looks like it with those buggy crazy eyed killer eyeballs of his.  He is a waste of time for any owner around the league.  I have absolutly no idea why or how the Kings would keep him.
