Goodbye Gerald Wallace Dreams...

Reported that he's signing a 57 mil / 6 year deal with the Charolette Bobcats. I guess we can all say that the Bobcats have a very good chance of making the playoffs. I actually believe that the Bobcats might have a better record then the Golden State Warriors. Just look at their depth and starting lineup. It's actually potentially sssscaaaary.

PG: Raymond Felton
SG: Jason Richardson
SF: Gerald Walalce
PF: Walter Hermann
C: Emeka Okafor

With Sean May, Matt Caroll, Adam Morrison coming off the bench.

This actually make me quite excited for JRich, because he could move to another playoff team rather than a building team.

I never thought we'd get Wallace
So i'm glad the Bobcats did...the more help for J-rich, the better.

That team is not bad at all especially in the East
They have an up-and-coming point guard, two highlight-reels-waiting-to-happen, great rebounding,  a great perimeter defender and a great interior defender, and three borderline allstars.

Makes me kinda sad.  Best of luck to JRich though

Semi -> Finals in the East..
They are going to be FUN to watch and even more FUN to play against. Will their chemistry come together? Who is the glue?

DUBS deck still being dealt, but I still BELEIVE we can take um.

Who will guard JRICH?  Will they give him a lane?  Dunk once...twice??

 Interesting scenarios.

And the Darko Dreams
Darko reached a 3 year deal with the Grizz.

Your list just
got shorter... sorry for the copy

Gilbert Arenas
DeShawn Stevenson
Andray Blatche
Udonis Haslem
James Posey
Jason Williams
Darko Milicic   <- signed
Carlos Arroyo
Josh Childress
Marvin Williams
Josh Smith

Atlanta, Washington, Miami and Orlando still in the mix..

flushed
pree only said ONE name on the list was in play, nothing about the rest ...

the other thing this means is that Nelson had moved on from KG and had focused on Darko as a reasonable upgrade on inside depth

there's been zero sniff on the KG front though, NO other teams have been reported to have offered anything beyond what GS is reportedly to have put on the table.

Mikki Moore is still out there ... yeesh, that's a big step down from hoping for KG, considering Darko, and now ...

yep
Just pointing out the leftovers after the Darko post move by Memphis...

I'm free falling
this really is a blow to the GFIN folks like myself who were in delusion that we could make a big splash - that Nelson had moved on to Darko is a very telling development - not final per se but ...

y'all embracing the youth movement better luv BWright and (hopefully we can resign) Barnes

Gilbert Arenas?
There is more of a shot of Barack Obama and Juwanna Mann being the parents of Patrick Obryant than us landing Gilbert.

For J-Rich's sake
I hope he drops the hammer on young Brandan Wright. I'm a dubs fan for life, but I think J-Rich needs to yak on this dude at least in his first game back. What's up with this dude's hip flexor anyway? Not really liking it. But Belinelli's another story. Can't wait to see this guy in Oakland!

That
has the potential to be a scary good line up in a couple years. I'm glad J Rich is going to a team that has a legit shot at the playoffs this year, he deserves it. It's going to be a fun team to watch.

thats not better than us
Felton isn't that great, and their bench has just May and Carroll.

I'm not impressed.

i heard the warriors contacted wallace
but with the money he just got, i dont think we could of afforded him.

"Wallace became an unrestricted free agent last month, and the Bobcats faced heavy competition in their efforts to re-sign the forward. Seven other teams contacted the free-agent forward when the NBA free-agency period began. Dallas, Orlando, Milwaukee, Detroit, Miami, Portland and Golden State all made inquiries".

i hope we win a championship soon

The Warriors sort of tried?
Dallas, Golden State, Orlando, Portland, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Miami all took contacting Wallace to the next level, but I think the Warriors knew it was a longshot from the start and didn't pursue it that hard. I think.

gulp
this is kind of depressing (and embarrasing) to ask, given what we now know you knew, and that you don't think he'd be a good pick-up despite what I misinterpreted, but what's GSW interest in Mikki Moore, or can you not say?

by hardcore on Jul 11, 2007 9:56 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Zero
Mikki has had a tough time securing the MLE. If the Warriors haven't jumped on this yet, they never will. He declined a three-year, $10-million deal with the Nets .. Warriors could have offered three-years, $15-million with the MLE and probably could have got him. They aren't in the mix, probably because they don't want to be.

why is....
everyone sounding so dissapointed? the dubs have youth with upside a group of veterans that got them to the playoffs for the first time in 13 years a draft pick who is lighting things up and making people talk. i think the future looks bright, they saved money with the trade they still have cap flexibility with the exemtion which can be use anytime all next season. i'm looking forward to the season and am glad youth will be served. i think big things still can be done during the up-coming season as far as the roster goes. and realy is garnett gonna really let mchale dictate where he ends up? when he can play there 1 more year then have free reign next summer over his team and his salary. kg is not going anywhere till he gets to pick next summer. who knows maybe the warriors make a deeper run in the playoffs and kg ends up here on his own without the dubs giving up anything. cheer up dubs nation we got a whole season to look forward to!!!!
