This guy/12 year old is going from bad to worse. First, he starts with this ridiculous rumors that he made up and then he starts calling people names, because they do not want to hear his nonsense. 49GiantMoron adds nothing to this community. Enough is enough. Atma, do us all a favor and get rid of this loser.

AN Community Guidelines

Anyone else a part of Athletics Nation? I love what they've done over there in terms of policing trolls and I suggest that GSoM adopt something similar to AN's three strike policy.

Consequences for Violating AN's Community Guidelines

Consistent with its baseball roots, when it comes to violations of the Community Guidelines, AN works on a version of "3 strikes and you're out." Complaints about possible violations of the Community Guidelines should be directed to AN's sub-committee for review and consideration.

The sub-committee aims to balance a high tolerance for the importance of free speech and low tolerance for minor or petty complaints, with enforcement of the stated guidelines on behalf of the entire AN community.

Strike 1: If the sub-committee agrees that a violation has occurred, the offending user will be contacted privately and issued a formal "strike 1". No other action is taken.

Strike 2: A second violation through this process triggers a "strike 2 warning" from the sub-committee, with a "cc" to Blez.

Strike 3: A third violation through this process is forwarded directly by the sub-committee to Blez for administrative action at Blez' discretion.

ROLL-OFF SYSTEM FOR STRIKES

If a user has one strike, 4 consecutive "strike-free" months will cause that strike to roll off.
If a user has two strikes, 6 consecutive "strike-free" months will cause that strike to roll off.
A "strike three" never rolls off: it is incumbent upon any banned user to appy for reinstatement (whenever they feel it is appropriate) by contacting Blez, Nico, or the Sub-committee with whatever correspondence they wish to make.

You can find the complete guidelines here. It's a good read and a I believe it to be a solid foundation on which GSoM's guidelines can be based.

If people followed them, well this site would be infinitely better. I can't say I'm all that favor in banning people since they can easily create a new screenname. Hopefully someday we'll get a commenting system like Ballhype http://ballhype.com/ based on a voting system and everything will take care of itself.

Again, this is all stuff that I personally do not want to deal with. I am not a "site admin" or "moderator". I'm a writer. This is not a message board. This is a blog. I'm honestly the wrong guy to make this happen, but we're working on something.

The diary quality has been improving tenfold lately so I do think there's progress.

You guys at GSOM have done a great job with this site. The main articles are well written and highly relevant as well as the site format is very user friendly. All I am really saying is that too many guys like this can seriously detract from the appeal and quality of this site.

A true Warriors fan holdin' it down in Long Beach.

is not necessary. What do you do when someone annoys you? Ignore them. Pretty simple. If no one responded to his posts there wouldn't be a problem. For some reason people feel the need to respond and tell him how wrong/stupid he is. I know I see what he writes and automatically I know there's no need to respond to ridiculousness. Instead of banning "him"(who knows? might be a girl) why not just ignore him?

Of course the fact that we're talking about this means we're not ignoring him...but I think it's a good idea.

Go to "Country Waffle" located in Vacaville... ? Food is aiight, but the Waffles themselves are butter... I highly recommend them. It's not a daily thing for us 2 have em'... maybe Once every other month... Good stuff! Try the waffles... PERIOD! (lol)

Right off Mission Blvd. If you're down for some light and tasty South Indian/Pakistani food, this is the place to be! The meat is always tender, juicy and flavorful. Fish pakora is a must have! Atma considers this part of his Warriors game ritual. Pick up a wrap, park at south hayward bart and take it up to the coliseum! if you got baggy pants, no one will even know you got em when you pass security at the gates (of the coliseum that is).

I think the reason why there isn't banning is a lack of functionality to detect/block IPs. Maybe what Atma is hinting at is a site revision or the installation of a true forum where it's possible to do more with posters/posting

but yeah, i believe there is a line between playful and useless, and this guy has jumped all the way to human waste

No

matter how stupid you think he is, if you respond to his diaries he will keep posting. As someone stated about all you have to do is IGNORE him and not respond to his diaries and he will eventually go away. Pretty simple logic. Banning him won't do a single thing because he can make more and more names. My suggestiong to everyone is if you think someone is posting a diary to be annoying or such as the cat we're talking about, simply don't respond and move on to the next post. There's always a ton of diaries daily, just skip over his.

i think thats the last resort to these things. and even though ive only been a member here for a week or so, its hard to read some interesting diaries and articles written by the rest of the gsom community with this person litterally blowing up and commenting the topic like crazy. honestly, i dont like banning, but if thats the way to go with the person... so be it.

if he posts a bogus diary, you have to respond, otherwise some of the other fans may believe his lies.

remember when he posted a diary about mulling being on KNBR and talking about a possible KG trade? If we had ignored the diary, some people may believe his lies to be true.

i must agree with the complaints...this site was definitely more on point before all these knuckleheads jumped on the GSW bandwagon and started abusing the site's posting policies...now there is a lot of crap to sift through before getting to items of substance.
