You're kidding right?
We all love Baron but there are at least a handful of equally taltented, less injury prone players I'd trade him for.

Off the top of my head
Lebron
Wade
Chris Paul
Deron Williams
Amare
Kobe
Dirk
Bosh

I'm sure there's plenty more

last time i checked,
Michael Jordan was still alive. well, I'd trade BD for MJ in his prime...
Ronald Reagan was a jerk.

I agree:
Baron > Deron

Baron > Deron

Baron > Deron

GOOD LUCK, JRICH. WE MISS YOU, MAN.

Wow I must be bored to respond to this....
...But I would use Baron's stem cells to bring back Wilt the Stilt, then i'd pull a Weekend at Bernie's with BD's body and make everyone think he was my best friend, thusly giving me all the ladies and the Warriors a championship

Baron @ Prime
Baron at his prime no one could stop remember the first game of the playoffs for the warriors in Dallas. Baron almost had a triple double

Jason Kidd at his prime
he was an absolute monster and got robbed of his MVP award by Duncan.  And then Nash gets two MVP's in a row?!?! Please...

there is on only one player..
that could maybe win my heart the way BD does..his name is Gil Arenas..but even then..I am torn...I love Baron...I love Gil.  It's so hard

Deron
Williams is going to be BD in a couple years. He's got the size, quickness, handles and shooting and passing abilities, he just needs another year or two and he's going to be unstoppable.

Bingo
So basically I'm trading Baron Davis for a 5 year younger, healthier version of himself? Anyone object to this trade?

by awesomer on Jul 18, 2007 9:06 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

i object
while deron williams has more value because he isn't injury proned and is a lot younger he just will never be as good as davis

I agree
Proof, I agree with you completely. As I said above:

Baron > Deron

And I don't just mean Baron in his prime. Baron > Deron during the playoffs. I think the GSoM guys even said that in one of the recaps.

GOOD LUCK, JRICH. WE MISS YOU, MAN.

Deron aint got it like I got it
Deron will never be near as explosive, strong, or as effective in the post as Baron...ever

dude
williams is very, very nice and a similar player to baron plus he is young and healthy, but if you think deron in his prime is just as good as baron in his prime then you must have never seen baron in his prime.  the dude could do everything plus he was dunkin over guys like KG.  i think if he had stayed healthy he would have arguebly been the best player in the league, plus he is such a smart player.  Baron is so gifted dribbling the basketball and while deron has handles, he just won't ever be as crafty or as smooth of a ball handler as baron is.  don't get me wrong he is a stud, but Baron in his athletic prime was absolutely amazing at times.

Lebron... hands down.
but if we're talkin "in his prime" it's gotta be Shaq. No one changes the game like Shaq.

hmmmm
is the trade for the teams sake, or for my personal enjoyment?

if its the latter...

Jessica Biel hands down. i think she played basketball in 7th Heaven...

I would trade Davis for Tim Hardaway in a second!
Man... Timmy in his prime was a BEAST!  The last player to avg 20 ppg & 10 apg... in back to back seasons too!  But if we're talking about current players... lets look down the list.  I would definately trade Baron for Lebron, Arenas, Brand, Dwight Howard, Garnett and Chris Bosh.  I would probably trade Davis for Deron Williams.  I do agree that Baron is a better player over all right now... but I really don't understand when some of you guys say "Baron in is prime is better than Deron in his prime" when we haven't even seen Williams achieve his prime yet.  This is only his third season coming up... and after seeing the Warriors trade Richardson for potential (whether it's Wright's potential or the potential to acquire KG), I would be totally for trading Diddy for potential.  The rest of people I would probably consider trading Davis for includes Nash, Kidd, and Chris Paul.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
