Do You Think We'll Get New Jerseys?

There have been a couple teams with new jerseys, to name a few, Boston's Alternate, Bobcat's new dark smurf blue jerseys, pacers from last season, New Orleans Hornets, Nets Alternate

Star-divide

Do you guys think well ever get new jerseys? Does anyone know about that cuz I'm seeing alot of new jersey changes lately and im just wondering how that process works and when we decide that and what not. You think we'll stick with the same colors? What do you think? I was thinking that since we did so well We should get new jerseys for that new feeling of i dunno just winning kind of start fresh or something what colors would u guys like to see on our jerseys?

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

" with all the whining he's been doing lately'

Come on Sleepy,  Go look at the Jrich videos then look at the skinny new kids we got and the players we kept instead of Jason and tell me why you are so happy? and now they want new uniforms too? Where's our tradition gonna come from? when will it even start? and Why should I wanna spend money when I've got perfectly good blue and gold warriors cap!!

it wouldnt surprise me....
....in order to get sales and sell more merchandise, most franchises get new uni's every few years, unless of course you're a team like th celtics or bulls.

our jersey design
is still relatively new. We have the save jersey design template as the Cavs. If a franchise wants to change their design they have to pay the league a certain "fine". Cohan = cheap owner.

yahh
bring back the ol golden state jerseys, before the surprise incarnation of thunder and the introduction of orange into our color scheme

by dso on Jul 1, 2007 11:09 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Can we change mascots too?
I have never liked our current logos and buy only throwbacks to avoid Thunder.

Maybe I'm alone.  I mean he's pretty acrobatic and all, but I have never liked his profile two-handing a lightning bolt all OVER the place...

I think the Blazers have a cool logo.  I don't know what it is, but I like it.

i never understood....
the warriors & thunder. They don't really go together. The Dubs should hire the Ultimate Warrior from the good ole' WWF as our mascot. Imaginge the intensity he could bring! Plus his theme song rocks! I like the colors of our newer jerseys, just not the design. The alternat oarnge & City jerseys are bad ass though. What about those black & grey jerseys they sell at the ROARacle? Those are cool.

wait..
are the bobcats changing their jerseys or adding an alternative?  if they are completely scrapping their old jerseys then... what the hell?  they just became a franchise and now they want new jerseys? ahaha

Someone got it twisted up there ^

Ok....
what does that mean people for get who they are?? what does that have to do with jerseys.... i dont understand what u just said...

by jeppalepala on Jul 2, 2007 12:17 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Atlanta is getting new jerseys in 2007-8
NOT CHARLOTTE. smiley face exclamation point

People confused Atlanta getting new jerseys with Charlotte who are not getting new jerseys.

Just answering your question.

Charlotte's alternates were in place last year.
I've seen them, yes.

by back2back51s on Jul 2, 2007 12:42 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Charlotte got new bluish freakin
cadet blue jerseys they didnt scrap the other ones i dont think i think its just an alternate but the hawks completely redesigned their wardrobe with a new logo... even though they still use the old one kinda just new colors on it but the hawks sign is kinda new

aye what do u guys think of the old old mascot the indian... their mascot back in the days of Wilt Chamberlain? they had nice colors back then even though it was kinda the same as ours but no orange... i must admit i only started liking our jerseys now that we currently have because we made the playoff this season.lol hahaha

We talked about it a while ago but I want this:

That they sold a few years ago- Van Exel was around, just with an updated font for WARRIORS on the front.

Throwbacks
can we have throwback month year round?
dubs seem to play better in the throwbacks

by StephenO4 on Jul 2, 2007 12:30 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

We need
a color change. Too many colors are on our current jersey. I remember the last jersey change was when JRich just came so it would be fitting to change it now since JR is no longer here. The last jersey can be son ominous with him. An updated look would be nice too.

Ditch the Hawaiian punch orange
The Warriors are not orange. We're blue, gold, and white. Alternate the midnight blue and the classic medium blue if we must -- just keep far away from Lakers purple.

by Sleepy Freud on Jul 2, 2007 1:46 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

geez you guys dont know colors and jerseys
1st those Charlotte jerseys are like a year old already so they are not really that new and they are alternatives, 2nd Thunder is suppose to be that Indian Guy with the feather you guys remember that the Warriors name didnt come from Warriors but from The Indian tribe, 3rd the Orange is for the Golden Gate Bridge. and the rules for a jersey change are 2 years after giving designs to the nba so they can have enough time to change everything and start production.

and if you want to see a jersey i actually do want go look here

Old jerseys Classic Coke; new jerseys New Coke
Pardon the 22-year-old reference here (for the kids on the board, "Coke" is a beverage that people used to drink before Red Bull and Vitamin Water), but I couldn't help myself. It's obvious that EVERYONE prefers the "City" jerseys--everyone from the guys in the Hardwood Classics jerseys in the arena to all the hipsters I see walking around New York wearing "City" T-shirts, half of whom probably have no rooting interest for the team, but just know a cool logo (like the interlocking NY Yankees logo)when they see one. While the latest uniform is, admittedly, almost attractive, which is more I can say for the early Thunder-era lightning-bolt shorts era (ugh), management's insistence on sticking with this lame, late-nineties effort at "rebranding" is nonsensical, as if Coca-Cola had ignored the huge outpouring of support for old-fashioned Coke and stuck with the new rebranded swill they tried to push on people back in '85.

BRING BACK THE CITY!

Or if management really thinks that would be offensive to Oakland, at least bring back the '70s-era jersey with the Cali map logo. We won a championship in that gorgeous jersey. What more do you need?

And yes, ditch the orange. Leave it for the Knicks. They need something to hang an identity on.

by Cheese Johnson on Jul 2, 2007 7:30 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Agreed on the Cali map
The unis backtoback51 posted a few comments up (^^^) are especially handsome. The stodgy round serifs on the #s could stand an update, but I love that blacker-than-midnight blue. Really it's not so far off our existing blue, just that much less concerned with being friendly. If we're only going to make minor changes to the unis rather than return to THE CITY full time, I'd love to see us shrink the orange swaths to thinner lines, retire Thunder, and take the midnight blue a step or three towards black.

As for the state map, you gotta love the implied message to the other CA teams. It's like, "screw you Sactown and SoCal, we're taking back this state! We're the Golden State Warriors, dammit!!!" Given the sorry state of the Kings, Lakers, and Clips, and the impending KG-fueled ascendancy of the Ws(!) the timing is perfect.

Baron, Jax, Artest, Biedrins, Barnes, and KG rocking the black/blue unis with the Cali map logo? Seriously, just get out of our way. We have a WCF date with the Spurs.

by Sleepy Freud on Jul 2, 2007 8:17 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thunder is already retired on everything
He is only there mascot now. The Warriors as a team don't use the Thunder logo anymore. Only time you see it, is when espn or some website talking about us, hasn't paid attention.

The W logo is the Warriors only logo now, look at the website, the arena, the jersey's, the floor.

The Warriors as a team retired that logo about 2 years ago.
