Uniform Change anyone?

I was reading the latest issue of SLAM magazine recently, and came across an article about our beloved W's. It was talking about what could have been the last time Nellie was in town..Webber fiasco etc.
Just looking at the pictures of the old, home unis with "Warriors" on the front took me back. Those uniforms were crisp, clean and look much better than the ones we have now IMHO. The current uniforms are mediocre at best, and we HAVE to get rid of the stupid Thunder logo!!
Maybe it's because I'm probably one of the older fans on this board (34yrs old) that I get a little nostalgic.
Anyone else feel the same about the current uniforms? Maybe the Warriors could hire Tony.PSD to design the new ones...I'm sure he could do better than the current logo.

23 and I'm all for going back to our old uni's. I love the ones with just Warriors across the chest. I think I speak for everyone when I say I wish we could use The City jerseys as our main ones, those are classic. Our current ones are horrible and look cartoonish.

Not that I would knock on the old ones during Nellie's first run with the Warriors. It suits our flashy run and gun style of play.

I like all the attitude our uniforms showcase through our players, even the Thunder logo.

old unis please!

any of the older ones look good. I could see the simplicity of the plain "Warriors" across the chest transformed into a high v-neck jersey without the round, circular arm holes...opting instead for something that extend out across the sounders the shoulders, more square like than the traditional bball jersey. i personally prefer the basketball with the california state outline ...

The Old Cali on the Ball Logo was my favorite, too. It would've been fitting to see them pull off the greatest playoff upset wearing those unis, since they used to make a habit of upsetting the big boys back then.

I agree

I don't like our mascot or the Golden State name. I'm sure our next anniversary as a franchise will bring a new logo and new colors. I have a funny feeling Golden State will always stick with the Warriors. I wish they'd drop the orange and the uniforms be more basic like the new Hawks uni's. The city uniforms were the best we ever had............the black and gold is my favorite.

agree with old skool

i think our current uniform dosent suck.. but warriors deserve better.. i hate the away jersey.. makes our players look 2 black.. ( im black) so nuttin racist.. also i like the home jersey kinna because.. it looks good.. wen we were n the playoffs.. i luv our throwback city jerseys,, but than i would get annoyed by seeing all that yellow all the time..
but than i also luv the indian jersey 2.. soo i would hafta decide with oldskool jerseys

we're the only franchise that went comic book...

...with the uni's at the end of the 90's and have yet to correct our error. the Pistons had the good taste to get rid of that hideous horse, the Sonics no longer look like the green lantern, etc. etc.

...i kinda figured this would be on Mullin's to do list when he took over, but not yet. when did teams start giving up their team colors in favor of the going fad. we all like orange, but where does that fit? can you imagine the Celtics adding purple to their uni's? look no further than the Bucks for what not to do.

Perfect way to describe it, 321. Agree 100%.

The 1990s Orlando Magic logotype may be one of the ugliest pieces of mainstream graphic design I've ever seen. That ridiculously huge Atlanta hawk logo was right up there too, along with the cheesy Washington withard. At least the Rockets' rocket was kind of a clean, well-resolved graphic, though I agree that it looked butt-ugly on the uniform, with all the other little doo-dads around it. Thank God teams are slowly coming to their sense and cleaning up the mess.

A good rule of thumb for unis: try using one color, with no outlines, serifs, logos, animals, dimensional type, stripes, or doohickeys at all. Then maybe add another color, or a really small, well resolved logo (the Bulls' Bull, for example, or the Giants' SF). Now ... stop right there. I swear, the world would be a much prettier place if "designers" just kept their grubby little paws off of things.

Simplicity is key. If you look at the Celtics, they stay with their uni's through thick and thin. I know that they have added some color schemes, but for the most part they stay the same.
The main thing is to get out of the cartoon era. The Raps lost that stupid dinosaur, we must drop Thunder.
I agree with the folks who like that basketball with the outline of Cali, in the pic with Sleepy. The shorts have to be longer though!! (lol) Gotta get rid of those Stockton-sized shorts!

Can we start a petition to be given to Mully? Any takers?
