Dunleavy on Hoopsworld

I wanted to share this article on our good old pal Mike. I think we've all read a rehash of the "potential" and "all around game" and "struggle to live up to his high draft slot" garbage a thousand times before, so apparently someone had a deadline to meet. But the article does make some revelations to me, as it calls him "solid" and a "good rebounder". Please read on as the hilarity ensues...

Actually
that piece isn't half bad. I agree with a lot, if not most of the stuff that guy had to say. He pretty much breaks him down bit by bit and it makes sense the way he does it. Don't get me wrong, I strongly dislike MDJ as much as anyone on here but it's not his fault the Dubs drafted him 3rd and gave him a huge contract. If he was making $4 mil a year or ended up being draft at 25 he would be considered a decent player but instead he was drafted 3rd and makes about 2.5 times what he should.

He does make some good points
however Mike Dunleavy is not a 'good citizen' and revealed a bad attitude during the end of his time in Oakland.  That being said he is reaching into the average range of nba players, however his ego is in the all-nba range.  The ego is the difference between why most people hated MDJ, and tolerated or even cheered for Adonal Foyle.

lol
at the good citizen comment. how could anyone forget this?

I'm sure Adonal would strongly disapprove.

i also like the article
it brings Dunleavy some justice. he's a decent 6th man but considering he's expected so much when he played here, all you can do is hate the guy.

also, the main thing why people hate on Dunleavy but not as much on Foyle(ok, aside from Foyle's lovable demeanor i guess) is because every season we expect something from Dunleavy. We already know Foyle would never catch that ball but Dunleavy, each season you hope he'll finally be consistent or that he'll be Nelson's point forward etc. but he never delivered. So it just adds to the frustration knowing he has the tools to be good but why isn't he???
