Bynum done for 2 months

He hurt his leg last night in the 3rd quarter win over the Grizzlies. I think it's pretty significant since he's a vital piece to their team and the Lakers are going to be one of the teams we're going to be fighting for a playoff spot. Sucks that he's hurt cause he was having a great year but it betters our chances of a playoff spot.

Wow
That is huge. I never like to hear about a guy getting hurt but this could have a major impact on the playoff picture in the west. I think that they will probably hang on, but it will be interesting to see how they play without him.

On a side note, a serious Laker slide in his absence could add up to major $$$ when he re-signs.

bohaha...
geebus 2 months?! thats a huge amount of time... not to mention the fact that I think he is tied with Beidrins for field goal percentage. Looks like its time for Kwame to step up.

8 weeks
Big chunk of time.  This is great IMO for two reasons: 1. Kobe's on my fantasy team -- BIG NUMBERS! 2. I'm a Warriors fan, and while I don't expect the Lakers to drop out of the playoff picture completely, it can't hurt our chances.  Regardless, I like Bynum.  He put in a lot of hard work with Kareem to get where he's at and he's clearly motivated to be one of the best centers in this league.  I wish him a full recovery, maybe not a speedy one...

Really Sad
The Warriors fan in me wants to say "great, maybe the Lakers will sink below the W's now" but the human in me is really sad.

Bynum was a great story who showed that big men can develop into true centers and someone who seemed to really work hard and was having that work pay off.

I truly in my heart hope he comes back before 2 mos and that he comes back better than ever.

Get well Mr. Bynum.

Nothing better than "The City".

+1
I'd seriously consider putting him #4 in the NBA in "guys I'd most like to build my franchise around."
  1. Howard
  2. LeBron
  3. CP3
  4. Bynum. Really, what young player would you rather have? Oden? Amare? Deron? I'll take Big Drew and live with the consequences.

a little too high imo.
but he's up there. I rank higher Durant, Wade, Amare, Bosh  besides the ones you mentioned. I'd take Bynum over Deron Williams though.

Where do you guys think Josh Smith ranks on this list? His game is so unique he's hard to rank.

It's almost like the Warriors have 6 guys out there... they always have a guy open! - Jon Barry commentating game 3 last year

tough stuff
If the Lakers were remotely interested in dumping Kwame brown before the deadline..Looks like they may be stuck with him and lose a significant trading piece. This must be karma at full throttle for Kobe Bryant..You know what they say about paybacks?

omg
lol the supersonics forced the lakers into overtime.. wawawewa. One of the worst team in the league forced a playoff contender into playoffs. I guess Bynum is more important than anyone thought.

wow
it's not even the lakers factor. it's the fact that he is 20 and he was just starting to play like a total beast. but now, he's struck by injury. this is just one of the many obstacles in his nba career huh? first physical injury obstacle to be exact.
