Is Mully on the way out?
Yahoo Sports posted this interesting story yesterday about how big, bad Robert Rowell is rearing his ugly head and power and it seems Mully's days may be numbered:
I agree with the author that Mully hasn't been in the running for VP of the year. But having a "bottom line suit", especially the alter ego of one of worst NBA owners (Cohan) running the show, I am feeling pretty frustrated by this new turn of events. First undermining the deal with BD, then imposing a larger fine and punishment on Monta (albeit deserved), then messing with Jackson's contract based on his liking of Jax, so what is next?
This new direction can't be good for the franchise and I can only surmise that Cohan and Rowell have already decided Mully is out with Nelly at the end of this year. Otherwise, why are they undermining what seems to be the maturing and growth of Mully as the VP? Just doesn't makes sense and doesn't bode well for the upcoming season IMHO.

I hate to say it, but it seems that the Warriors are just destined to be losers. Just when we have a little spark of hope in the We Believe playoff drive and get some momentum in the past few seasons, the rug is pulled from under us and we’re back in the cellar…I hate Rowell and how he runs things, he only cares about one thing and one thing only, making money and not about wanting to put a championship contending team on the floor. I wish they’d let Franklin Mieuli buy the team back. At least he brought us one championship in 74-75 and cares more about having a good team rather than money.
You should read this blog from Fear the Beard, its also quite informative…

what i don't get
is that if it is only about the money, doesn’t he know that if we spent money to get stars and made this team into a championship caliber team, that would bring in a whole lot more money?? A championship caliber team get’s national tv time, they get more people to the games and I’m pretty sure all that brings in more money to the franchise.
I have no idea why it seems they don’t like mully, wasn’t he the one who brought baron to the dubs, which in turn lead to us getting into the playoffs and knocking off the number 1 seeded mavs??
the problem is that we have two douche bags running our team, rowell and cohan…
by the way, did that itch really say that Jackson was overrated?!?! beside the slump towards the end of the year, did she not see him average 20, 4 and 4 WITH monta and baron in the lineup!?!?

Doesn't matter
I’m immune to this gay trend of people leaving. J-Rich, Baron, Mullin, whoever. Just kill the whole team, we’re all used to it by now.

Too Cheap
With so many season ticket holders, you’d figure the Warriors would be a little more willing to use $$$, but sadly no. There is so much support for this team, but the owners are too cheap. I totally agree with JUSTSOMENAME, if the team does well they get coverage which = $$$.
O well, I guess we will always be underdogs!

This is no big deal. They are just reserving the right in case he doesn’t recover; it is the smart move. Both parties here want the contract to work out, and if monta recovers, but not to what he was—but still something, it is unlikely the warriors would still void the contract, as doing so—at that point—would draw the ire of the NBAPA. Therefore Monta isn’t too likely to be too irritated at their reserving the right.
Adoptive Parent of Francisco Peguero. He can throw, he can run, he can hit(fastballs), and he's Dominican. What else do you need to know?

Rowell the idiot
plain flat shot down a decent extension for BD. the best player on the Warriors. Maybe he thinks that he was doing the Dubs a favor and avoiding a Dunleavy/Murph situation. The two aren’t even remotely comparable. If Rowell manages to push Mullin out and take over, we’re done. Idiots who come in assuming they can apply standard management principles to sports crack me up. While the fine on Ellis made a bit of sense – deducting pay for games he wouldn’t be able to play — the fact that he insisted on doing so to “make an example” and power-play Mully at the same time — ridiculous.

about the money
others have made this point better previously, but it deserves mention here – it’s NOT about spending the money, tis about spending it WISELY. Cohan’s crew ate some big $$ on Montgomery, and have spent on Mullin’s mistakes in the past (Murphy, Foyle, Dun, etc.) and the majority of NBA teams operate between the cap and the luxury tax – precisely where the Dubs are operating. They spent on Maggs and Turiaf, so it’s not that they won’t put the $$ on the table. If anyone wants to rehash whether they spend money or not review some of AB1’s posts and the replies they generated from esteemed posters
this is just a guess, but for a team that has lost as much as it has under Mullin it must be baffling to Rowell, Cohan, et al that Nelson and Mullin enjoy such love from the public and press while they are vilified – this may be an extension of simple envy
