What's good with you GSoMers. Just informing you guys that Filipino Heritage Night is on November 21st 2008 and the dubs will be hosting the Chicago Bulls. HELP SPREAD THE WORD!

Im not a big fan of JB's...

It’s gotten pricey… a few months ago we ordered 2 C-joys, 2 drinks and that mango turnover and it added up to 25 dollars… and the portions were MAD skimpy! I should have cooked at home for that price! … or eat at Fresh Choice LOL!

Don’t like G-lockes as well either, I mean I do when Im not paying… lol.

I like Family party food better!

I dont eat Jollibee here… but the wifey and I eat there once a week when I go back to the Phils.. The chickenjoy there is off the hook, and the chickenjoy here is depressing.. I just got back to the Bay Area 6 days ago from the Philippines, and i’m crying cuz i miss it already!

what are those Philippines snacks that are sorta like eggrolls called? Can’t remember the name but they are delicious. Someone brought them to a party last year and I cleaned off the tray.

it’s called shanghai, for reasons I do not know

I looked up some recipes and there are lots of types, shanghai is one type that apparently came from that area. There were other variations that originated in the Philippines.Some were bigger and some were not fried. I’ll have to try making some one of these days.

yeah it is from that area they just did a special on lumpia on the filipino channel adobo nation like last week. Lumpia is easy to make its just ground meat preferably pork, (turkey if you wanna be healthy i do mine like that sometimes) Add some veggies like carrots or onions wrap it tight if its shanghai than fry it crisp, and the key to eat them get some chicken chili sauce its the only way to eat them.

have to buy it its usually in a glass bottle. you use it for dipping. i think some super markets have it. it looks like kinda neonley red -orange syrup with a whole bunch of chili flakes in it though it does not taste hot at all and is mostly sweet. i don’t know of anyone who could make it from scratch but i think it might be easy to do.

Well the Heat this year are going to be another bandwagon team. I think next to the Shaq/Kobe Fakers, the ’06 Heat was the biggest bandwagon team in sports. Now being the population of Filipinos especially here in the bay area, the bandwagon will get even bigger.
