Some serious eye for talent
As frustrated as I have been with the Warriors' off season moves these past two years, I do have to give credit to Nellie, Mullin or whoever is calling the shots these days, for being able to identify young players that can contribute to the team and play in the NBA.

The Warriors started three undrafted players vs. the Clip joint on Saturday, and they all contributed significantly to the win.
Azubuike - DLeaue 2006, the Warriors brought him into the We Believe season and he made some clutch contributions to the history making run.
CJ Watson - DLeague 2007, the Warriors brought him up when everybody and their mother was injured last season, and although he didn't really contribute last year, he's logging serious minutes in Monta's absence and playing very decently.
Anthony Morrow - Undrafted free agent rookie 2008. There's only two words to describe this guy's performance yesterday, dare I say -- en fuego?
So Neson and Mullin might be destroying the team from the inside out with their dysfunctional whateverness, but they have a serious eye for young talent that keeps them very entertaining.
This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

they have a serious eye for young talent
Much like a serious eye for younger women, it leads to bad things.

one more player Marco has slipped behind
I’m as excited as anyone at Morrow’s game, and we all hope it continues, but it was one game. Let’s hope he produces with some consistency and makes us forget our guard problems completely … not trying to be “doom & gloom” just cautious before getting hopes unrealistically high
The flip side of the masters’ eye for talent is that our un-drafted starting PG is headed for D-league now w/ Hendrix, who was also touted as the steal of the draft and potential early contributor. At least until Turiaf came into the fold. Meanwhile CJ is back in the starting role. How long til Monta gets back? Can we hold out that long for a PG while we play the flavor of the day/week? Hope so.

and our 07 playoff team was broken up before it got to play a whole healthy season together.

but it was one game...
dude shot 87% from the free throw line in 4 years of college..consistancy. shot 81% cumulative in 3 summerleagues total. consistancy. not exactly sure but was like 7 for 10 during his first few games with limited PT. DUmP Belinelli! I was a huge fan after watching him in summer leagues that past 2 years but i cant help but wonder even after if he finds his niche if hes gonna bitch up in the biggest moments like peja did with the kings vs. th lakers. one moment in particular. morrow on the other hand has come out the gate swinging and this ONE game capped it for me. ship him out con AL!

He is legit...
I have been telling everybody this from the game with Detroit. Put the ball in Morrows hands becuase the kid has heart and is clutch…we need players like this.
Get rid of Marco since we have Morrow – you will see how good this kid is!

I really want to see what he does against Portland
Morrow started with some pressure since it was his first NBA start. However, no one had any expectations from him. He caught 99.997% of people off-guard. The next game, there’s going to be sooo much pressure on this dude to perform almost as good as he did against the Clips. It should be an interesting test.
I really like both Buikes and CJ. They both seem like real cool people too.

disguy is absolutely right
we can decide if he’s legit by the game he plays coming off the 37 points. people are gonna expect more from him and all eyes will be on him tuesday. so how will he respond? obviously another 37 points is ridiculous to ask from him, but a good game should be enough to know if he’s for real

pressure
He hit big shots against the t-wolves, pull up three’s in transition. You don’t just shoot like he did in summer league, shoot like everybody was talking about in training camp, then comes your first NBA start and you completely light up the field with many different ways to score. Ya I agree people are going to expect him to contribute but he is the last guy shooting in the gym most of the days. Nellie said before the season starts he is the best shooter on the team and would be on most NBA teams. His release is so quick and so smooth, he seems like the type of guy who can eat up pressure. Teams are gonna know that they can’t let this guy be open but that only helps us because that means less double teams on our other guys, Sjax calls him “lil steve”

Morrow
first of all
Warriors needed player who is capable shoot from perimeter constantly -because it’s not good when only 3pt shooter on the floor is Jax -when he’s got off night then opponents need just fill the paint and then they are playing ‘good D’
Morrow will be good -i mean he will be OK (though not 37ppg OK) player -he is what W’s need right now -he gives more space for inside players
actually i m his fan now
sometimes people don’t want to talk hoops, they just come here to act a fool.

Some serious eye for talent?
I think it’s more of luck (that we happen to be in that situation) than eye for talent.
Looking at the fanpost I made not too long ago about the Warriors’ recent draft history:
http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2008/11/13/661021/a-look-back-at-the-2002-20
We missed alot of chances of drafting all-stars. The guys you mentioned above are more likely to max out as a solid starter nothing more.
Azubuike, if I recall correctly, was just picked up because we had a bunch of injuries and he was the best player in the DLeague at the time. If we were not shorthanded, I doubt they would have looked at bringing him.
Watson, not sure if this was the case with Watson but I think it’s the same as Buike and the Warriors trying to test their luck. I think they did bring Renaldo Major first but it didn’t work out. Again, he was one of the best players in the DLeague playing a position the Warriors needed.
Morrow – the kid played his way into the lineup. Doubt the Warriors knew he’d make the team (he was actually supposed to go overseas already) otherwise, they would’ve picked him in the 2nd round and not risk him getting picked by another team. The Warriors just happened to let go of 3 of our not-so deadly, not-so 3pt threats. Surely doubt it’s because they were making space for Morrow. The kid gets an invite to get looked at and happens to play exceptionally well to warrant a spot.
