Stephen Jackson: Captain For Life [48minutes.net]
Geoff Lepper breaks down the cap ramifications.
Love Jack and I'm happy he's getting paid, but what an odd signing. Further proof that the Warriors mismanagement has some of the worst contract negotiation skills in the business. They have this bizarre habit of outbidding themselves. The Fisher/ Foyle free agent signings were just awful moves. J-Rich, T-Murph, and Dunleavy were all extended BEFORE they were even restricted free agents. Why does history keep repeating itself?

Below-average PER ... 38% FG% ... already signed through age 32 ... why???
Jax as a third banana/emotional sparkplug was awesome. Jax as a primary scoring option is not a recipe for success.

exactly
You nailed it.
His unnecessary extension is bizarre.
And as a first string “banana,” he’s getting awfully ripe fast.
The pistol packin’ strip club terra and shot dominator, is a shootin’ machine on this team. Unfortunately, the machine shoots bricks. And by taking the most shots, he drags the entire team percentage down with him.
The Dubs are behind the eight ball on nights when his shot isn’t falling. And that’s about 2 out of 3 games.
We can only hope Morrow is for real.

9 million is not what a primary scorer is paid
he’s only taking this many shots right now because there isn’t a viable, consistent option on offense that’s better.
when ellis gets back, and with the increase in biedrins’s production i expect from having them play together, jackson should move down to 2.5-3

To all you guys who love Shawn Marion. He's a real bargain
at $17 MILLION!!! Ben Wallace at 14.5M,, this list goes on and on and on. Hey this just in kids,,, every player in the NBA is paid alot of money.. almost ALL are overpaid. Jax is paid what he is worth when you look at the other stiffs in thei league.

This is why
I never liked the Warriors signing Maggette with that much (50 Mil? cmon). Also I’m all for extending Captain Jack, but I hope he took less or the management got him for a bit less even at 20 Mil for 3 years. Another thing, is Rowell really trying to get rid of Mullin? Are we going to allow Rowell to rip us off?
I will always be your fan JRich. Good Luck
