NBA.COM Power Rankings
I was just looking at this weeks power rankings on Nba.com and was suprised where they had the warriors. They had the Warriors as the 25th best team in the NBA, only in front of Bobcats, grizzlies, wizards, timberwolves, clipps, and thunder. Is it just me or are they underestimating the warriors once again, just like they did against the Mavs in the playoffs. I know the team they have now is not quite the 07 playoff team but they are are better then 24th best in the NBA. Dont you guys agree that they better than what people are giving them credit for. Wait till Monta's back.
This is what they had to say about the Warriors:
Off: 106.9 (15), Def: 107.8 (19)
You may not have known what team Anthony Morrow played for before Saturday's 37-point barrage against the Clippers, but if there's one team an undrafted rookie could score 37 for in his fourth NBA game, it's Don Nelson's Warriors.
http://www.nba.com/powerrankings/
They may be saying that right now about Anthony Morrow but from the looks of what his is doing right now he could do for any team and is one of the most accurate shooters in the league.

warriors are perenially underestimated. if marco or morrow can step up regularly, if ar or bw can become a player to play 25 minutes a night, if monta comes back and is close to his old self, warriors can ball with anybody (a lot of if's)

Marco
is done Morrow has completely taken what we thought Marco would give us. I really don’t see Morrow just being now a 2-game hero his stroke is to nice and to consistent and from what we have heard he works to hard. Monta has had knee surgery then he had the neck thing in training camp and was the same I think he will be fine. the question is which or either Bwright or AR step into the 4 spot and become players, right now it is hard to say if either will. But I agree with the post that 25 is way to low but these rankings were posted before the portland game and hopefully if we win tomorrow night we will be ranked higher.

Power Rankings show how good a team is, which is why we’re so low on the board. Now, if there was a Potential Ranking, we’d be high up there.
WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...

Rankings
…Are pointless… What the hell kind of formula are they using anyway. Probably the same one being used for College football… What a joke!
Last year’s tough Western Conference was a fluke. Look at the standings now… Besides the Lakers at one loss, everyone seems pretty mediocre. If only we had Morrow during some of our games when we had scoring droughts…I think we’d be looking at an 8-3 record instead of 5-6.

Other leagues looked at college sports and realized that having some pundit throw out rankings gets people talking about their sport
More talk = more buzz, more buzz = more $$$. It’s the same reason the US News & World report doesn’t rank the Harvard MBA #1 every year. It’d be boring and wouldn’t sell newspapers.

no, because Haas is better :)
are you a Harvard MBA- is that why you’re a Dubs fan in Boston?

I wish!
I applied to a few B-Schools last year (not Harvard) and got soundly denied. We’ll try again later, but… I don’t know, I’ve always had something against Harvard.

It’s also still too early to determine anything. That stuff is alot more accurate in the second half of the season when the standings matter more.

yea its kinda stupid...
i mean, according to the two stats they chose to put up, the warriors should be no lower than 19, and closer to 17. but as someone above me said, the dubz are just a perennially underrated team. maybe that’s just another reason why we love em as much as we do.

Hated On
We should be used to this by now. We are a one trick pony in the eyes of the national media. Every time we are on National TV the only things they can say about us is the “amazing” run we had in the playoffs against Dallas and Monta getting hurt. We have a good team that needs time to gel, and if we can just stay afloat for a month until Monta gets back, maybe then people will give us credit when we do beat teams like the Pistons, Raptors, and Hornets (games we would have won with him IMO)

I hate to say it but
If morrow keeps producing, not exactly droppin 37 and 25 points on incredible shooting, but just doing what we hope he does the Monta injury is somewhat of a blessing in disguise because I don’t think Morrow would have got the opportunity if he wasn’t injured. Now lets just hope that Monta is his normal self once he gets some games under his belt again.

Just a note...
Morrow ranks 4th in NBA.COMs rookie ranking right now

has an undrafted rookie ever got rookie of the year??
by FeartheBeard4 on Nov 20, 2008 2:01 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Question is...
Would the NBA let it happen? I doubt it
by Pearlsofwisdom on Nov 20, 2008 3:45 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
good question
and the next one is, even if they let it happen, would they do so for the Warriors? I think not.

Looking at the rankings and the teams above us I see us
being #14 relaisitcally. Bulls? ranked that high. Me thinks they will be falling like a rock and we will soar in next weeks rankings into the teens.
by smearthebeard on Nov 20, 2008 4:06 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
seriously
I am a Blazer fan and watched you guys shoot lights out the other night and then we whoop the bulls by 40? This does not seem right at all. GSW are better than75% of the east coast teams alone.

I don't care about rankings, i care about wins!
I pray i never have to use a gun again...
...unless i'm at a strip club parking lot...
...and somebody tries to run me over with their car...
...But how often does that happen??
