Ovation for Baron...
With all these articles surfacing about Rowland, the more I am convinced that Baron’s “opting out” was not about him (Baron) at all. This is all about Rowland, his ego and his desire to rule... to be the man.
Therefore I think it’s only right for us Dubs fans, to give Baron the ovation he deserves (when the Clippers come to the Coliseum to play the Warriors). After all, he gave us three productive, and definitely one of the exciting years of Warriors ball. As the most loyal, loudest fans in the NBA, we should set the example and show everyone we are appreciative fans, especially for one player who almost brought us on top. There is no reason to boo him as he is the one player that put the Warriors back to prominence. Remember, Baron was ready to honor his agreement with Mullin until Rowland got involved and nixed it.
What do you guys think?

i'd say Baron deserves it from us though
imperfect as he is, he was the major reason we were good (the +/- #‘s when he was in vs when he was out of the game, even when we were bad, were astronomically in Baron’s favor). actually i just checked, small sample size, but even with the Clips, Baron on floor -6. Baron off floor -18.
Everyone points to Jack returning as the turning point last season, but if Baron had gotten hurt and only Jack returned, we’d still of been losing. Jack put us over the hump, he didn’t carry us.

yes
baron deserves the world from our organization… too bad its a shady buisness sometimes.. i was at the charlotte game last year when J-rich returned to oakland and he only got about a 25 second ovation… i was pretty upset about that. foyle got a big ovation last yearr tho!!!

Rowell not rowland
but you are right. stillif he took 2 years for 26 million on top of 18 million this year he would have had a 3 year 44 million deal. Nice deal so i just think that its a ton of money its not like rowell was cheap just he made baron not like him and realize mully wasnt in charge

does it count
if I do a standing ovation for him at the comfort of my living room?

agreed
the arguments of how much he contributed are meaningless.
Baron Davis loved the warriors. And I quote a post-game interview when the warriors played the clippers a couple weeks ago:
“It’s not my fault,” Davis said. “It wasn’t like I was lying saying I wanted to be there, retire there, spend the rest of my career there, accomplish something. I thought that I was going to be one of those players who got their jersey retired. It grew to be a great relationship and home for me. After we beat Dallas, promises were made and never followed through. Then they wanted to see if I could play a full season, and promises were made and never followed through. It wasn’t the fact that I wanted more money. I opted out of more money to come (to Los Angeles). It was more that I didn’t feel like I was wanted, like my welcome wore out. They had gotten enough. They had gotten what they needed. That’s how I felt, and it kind of forced me to look elsewhere.”

that is truly sad
Makes me wish Rowell and Cohan never had anything to do with the Warriors.

THE CHANT
“Thank you Baron!”
CLAP CLAP, CLAP CLAP CLAP
“Thank you Baron!”
CLAP CLAP, CLAP CLAP CLAP
“Thank you Baron!”
CLAP CLAP, CLAP CLAP CLAP
“Thank you Baron!”
CLAP CLAP, CLAP CLAP CLAP
“Thank you Baron!”
CLAP CLAP, CLAP CLAP CLAP
“Thank you Baron!”
CLAP CLAP, CLAP CLAP CLAP
We should have done that chant for J-Rich last year. Sure, the chant is unoriginal, but it’s still effective.
