What's up with Robert Rowell?
I always thought of Robert Rowell is to GSW as Larry Baer is to the SF Giants, meaning that he is the head marketing/vision guy whose job it is to grow the value of the GSW franchise as opposed to dealing with day to day basketball operations.
If Larry Baer had a disagreement with Brian Sabean or was moving to push him out, I don't think he would make such obvious public machinations, like Rowell who is basically emasculating Chris Mullin in the public eye. Now I can understand if Rowell is dissatisfied with Mullie's decisions, but the way he is handling the situation seems very awkward, unbusiness-like and professionally crude.
I expect the next thing he will do is hold a press conference and pull out an overhead projector and slide transparencies

uh
Why doesnt Mullin step down then? What he needs the money Sprewell style?
I think there is alot of crap going on that we don’t know about. I dont know if Emasculating is proper, but keeping signings and trades under control, sure.
But he has GOOD reason to do so.
Just hope Rowell doesn't ask Mullin to "put some mustard on" his next trade
then he can really go all “Sprewell style” on Rowell

what is wrong with robert rowell
many things, i dont think he knows a single thing about the game of basketball. hes like harrington he think hes much better and much more important than he is
meh, Rowell controlling Mullin's spending isn't really a bad thing
problem with Cohan (and maybe Rowell) is that when it comes down to it, they’ll always put money ahead of winning.
this was never more clear than after JRich was traded so that we could basically resign Monta & Andris w/o entering luxury tax territory for just one stinking year. whether that was the right move or not, who knows. that’s not my point. it just proved to me that they were more concerned with the bottom line than with winning games.
