Trade for either Amare Stoudemire or Devin Harris

Ok, with the (non-official and, for all the matters, non-existent but very noticeable) ongoing feud between Stoudemire  x Shaq or, even better, Stoudemire x everybody on Suns team AND with the Suns losing winnable games AND Stoudemire forcing bad shots most of the time he touches the ball AND with my mind playing tricks on me ;-) I'd like to discuss with you all about the possibility (if any) of the Warriors getting him. What do you think?

I haven't check the salaries, remaining contract years, etc but I bet we could send a package like Maggette + Jackson for him (plus Marco or CJ to play behind Nash). What do you think?

Regarding Harris, well, the dude is onfire this year, is a shot-first PG who does NOT takes threes and racks up most of his points from the line, 2 much welcomed features the Warriors would like to have in its PG player.....  moreover, he's averaging ~7 assists/game and watching him play proves you that he's passing the ball and it's NOT forcing shots, a third and much needed feature in the Warriors team. (are you reading this, Corey, Steph and Jamal??)

Ok, I could spend the whole night here tinking about this and that, but I wanna hear you, please post your toughts below. Thanks!

(My first topic ever :-) - please don't rape me for souding dumb

P.S. any news about Moped Ellis? Is he on track to retunr in ~20 days?

amare is one of the upcoming FAs for 2010 right?

i guess that would be cool. win win situation. we get him or he leaves and we have money to get someone else… doubt itll happen though (same division, and if the suns are smart theyre gonna be getting rid of the older folks soon and handing over the keys to amare)

harris no way… we dont need another shoot first pg. we cant start 5 guards

Youre delusional if you think we can land one of those two. Especially with a package of Maggette, Jackson and Belinelli.

sorry, it's true

but hey, wishful thinking

+1

no offense, but it would be impossible to land amare by just giving up jackson and maggette lol

by gorillas on Nov 30, 2008 9:04 PM PST up reply actions

it wouldnt be maggette and jackson

it would have to be something like jackson, crawford, and wright for amare, alando tucker, and goran dragic to make the salaries work and maybe the warriors would have to give up a future pick, but it would have to be made after 2 months since crawford has a 2 month trade clause.
warriors lineup:
ellis
morrow/azubuike
maggette
stoudemire
biedrins
pretty damn good
suns:
nash
crawford/bell
jackson
diaw
shaq
suns don’t look bad either and plus they would become very deep and would improve tremendously at the wings.

devin harris

just dropped 47 points with 8 assists and 7 rebounds on the suns
and he scored 34 the night before

Thank you, Dubs.

by misterho on Nov 30, 2008 8:36 PM PST reply actions

that's why we should get him now while he's hot

nevermind what the Nets think. If we want him, we can get him. Simple as that.

article about amare wanting to be the guy in phoenix and that he’s not sure if he wants to stay with them.if he came to the warriors he could take as many shots as he wants.i think the warriors would be a better fit for him and should probably try and make a run at him.just imagine him being paired up with monta, it would be awesome.

we could say something like

“Hey Amare, come down here, you’ll be da man yo, you would be playing on a familiar land, we don’t play any D anyway” :-P

I would trade Beans and someone else for Amare. However i would try the Jack, Wright, and Crawford deal first.

by joestar on Nov 30, 2008 8:59 PM PST reply actions

O Really?

That goes the same for the other 27 teams in the league.

amare would rather

retire and coach peewee bball than play in Oakland

screw cohan, screw mullin, screw baron

by DMJR on Nov 30, 2008 10:11 PM PST reply actions

oh great

even more terrible defenders.

although if we could trade maggette in the deal, which would make NO sense for the suns, i’m fine with that!

by HoLdEmUP on Nov 30, 2008 10:26 PM PST reply actions

devin's ripping it

but i can’t stand guys who are always trying to draw fouls, flailing their arms, jumping into people and flopping. i’m already getting tired watching Maggette. i’d rather have Baron and get screwed on calls than have these Cassell-types who are always trying to fool the refs instead of just playing basketball.

are you guys retarded?

why would the nets trade their starting point guard for any reason?
especially at a time were he is doing better than anyone expected.

by warriors1 on Dec 1, 2008 12:08 AM PST reply actions

they would if we offered Monta....

plus there is a good chance Monta is not going to be the solution this team needs, i.e monta is a 2 guard just like all the other 2guards we have on this team like Jack, Crawford, Maggs, Buki, Morrow, Belli.

i got amare in nba2k9

for turiaf maggs and 2 future first round picks. doesnt help but im jus throwin it out there

by gswLLBatman on Dec 1, 2008 9:53 AM PST reply actions

exactly

i got OJ Mayo, Josh Smith, Ben Wallace, Russell Westbrook, Sean Williams, and Brook Lopez by giving up Harrington, Maggette, Williams, Turiaf, Bellinelli and Watson. But I’m not about to write a post about how we can have a Monta, Mayo, Jack, J-Smoove, Biedrins, Westbrook, Buike, Randolph, Wallace, Williams, Lopez rotation by midseason in real life.

by sam23 on Dec 1, 2008 10:42 AM PST up reply actions

I started with the Bulls and end up with a lineup of

D.Rose, Mayo, Deng, Arthur, Okafor with Thad Young, Sefalosha, Randolph, Ty Thomas, Marc Gasol off the bench.

Oh, and we won the championship.

by lightz0ut on Dec 1, 2008 2:11 PM PST up reply actions

Willing to give up...

Wright, Randolph, AB or Monta? It would take some combination of those guys to get the conversation started. We don’t exactly have a lot of trade assets in the Amare category. I’m not saying that it’s impossible, I’m just saying that we will never land a guy like that without giving up some of our valuable players. No one is looking to dump an all star for two good players with loooong expensive contracts. If he ends up getting dealt it will probably be for an expiring and a young stud or two w/ draft picks.

I would probably give up Monta, Wright and Randolph and as many 1st round picks as it takes, but that probably still wouldn’t do it. The guy scores 22pts per game on 57% shooting. He gets to the line and makes them at a good rate. He rebounds pretty well. The guy is a straight beast on offense. If you put him next to a great rebounder (like AB) you’ve got quite a frontcourt.

I haven’t always been a fan of his attitude though. I’m reminded of a passage from the book 7 seconds or less, where Amare is watching a game from the bench where he spent most of the season injured and he commented on KG something along the lines of “He’s good, but he can’t carry a team like I can carry a team.” What?? Seriously? Still the guy can play. I wouldn’t mind watching him play in a dubs uni even if it took half our roster to get him.

what about this trade?

ellis + jackson + randolph for STOUDAMIRE or BOOZER and another player

Defense wins championships!!

PG crawford – watson
SG azubuike – morrow
SF maggette – belinelli
PF boozer/stoudamire – wright – hendrix
C biedrins – turiaf

by gambinofam on Dec 1, 2008 1:09 PM PST reply actions

Thats not a bad trade

I did tried Crawford, Jackson, and Wright for Amare and Grant Hill, but Crawford cant be traded with another player. That would be a better trade in my opinion. I’m really upset about this whole crawford thing, I dont like the aquisition, he’s redundant with Monta around, someones got to go, and I have a feeling it wont be Crawford
