Let the trade talks begin....Reported Al for Curry trade.
Real GM says that Donnie Walsh is once again lookin to pick up Al Harrington to play in D'Antoni's system. Looks like the Knicks wanna give up Curry, but the spurs want to get in on the deal and have Curry go their way, so they might give up a piece to the Warriors...but who?
The Dubs want David Lee, straight up.
This sounds feasible for us, hope to see something develop sooner rather than later. What do you guys think?

Hmm...
Any chance the Bobcats would bite on Curry?
DJ, Felton, J-Rich, Okafor, Curry? Would that get the juices flowing for a Wallace trade? I don’t know…

In case I didn’t make myself clear I’m talking about a three way deal involving Al, Curry and Wallace…

i would actually be ok with
anthony randolph, harrington for wallace
i would even go as far as tossing a first rounder to make it to good for the cats to pass up
randolph=high risk high reward potential
wallace=proven nba player
dont confuse talent with potential
lets go mullin, call your ol’ buddy higgins up
Ellis to the rim.

not me
remember when we were all giving up on B Wright and now it looks like he may turn into something, I say stick it out and lets see if we can develope a front court of 6’10s and over. We will be lucky to make the playoffs anyway this year and not get thumped in the first round even with Wallace.
Al and picks, sure
Al picks and Belini fine
But we still need a PG.

Well played, sir... well played.
I hate Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, and Russel Peters because they make fun of white people like me. They also make fun of other kinds of people, which hurts me deep down because my ancestry is so mixed that I don't know what my official "race" is... so I get offended for all races!

spurs
should give us manu. i’d take him even if he is injured :D

Manu might not be enough!
They might have to throw in Duncan & a first rounder…

Spurs piece to the Warriors ... but who?
Wow, talk about a f-ugly roster. I know the Spurs are world-beaters and all, but there’s not one dude on that roster that interests me in a trade (we all know the top 3 are untouchable).
As for David Lee, he currently makes less than $2M a year, while Al makes $9M+. For this to work as a two-team deal, the Knicks would also have to throw in a hefty contract like Jerome James or Jared Jeffries. Ugh. And assuming we can get Lee, he’ll be a restricted free agent at the end of the season. Can we afford to give him the contract extension he wants?

I WANT JRICH BACK (ill settle for wallace though)
spurs have no one we could use.

oh and then we should offload wallace
for a decent BIG. so let’s just make it a 4 way shall we? mini orgy!

if we were worried about
turiaf, just imagine what we’d feel like for curry..lol and screw david lee, he stole monta’s player of the game for the rookie-soph game..lol jk ! lee is raw, but i dont see the knicks moving him and if the do i dont see him having a long tenure with us. i think the best bet is to go after wallace. wallace is a solid player all-around
we gon' make 'em run, make 'em follow the lead

curry???
CURRY IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.
he’s horrible in the sense as an NBA player, and even worse as a fantasy player.
why do you think he’s on the bench?
harrington is far more valuable, we get get a lot better than curry.

no not curry!!!
noooooo NOT CURRY!!
ill take randolph any day over curry … throw in marbury and im happy
by Jrich-is-missed on Nov 7, 2008 2:01 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
you can't "throw in Marbury"
there’s something called the CBA that has a traded player exception which requires salaries to be within 125% of each other.

After seeing Wright
I’d rather just get rid of Al for someone we won’t even use. Hell, does Denver want him? They have a 10 million dollar exception.

You know,
After seeing the towel boy make a 3 pointer during halftime, we should really just sign him up too…
It’s one freaking game guys… get over it. Wait till he does it again, and again, and a few more times, before getting all wet over him.

If we are going to get Lee
We gotta take on Curry…
Good idea on the veteran PG, but looking at the two rosters (Charlotte or NY) its going to be Felton or someone like Crawford, two guys that cant play d and would never play for Nelly

Curry is bigger
Then Kevin Duckworth!
David Lee or nothing. There is nothing Spurs have that we need/want not named Parker/Ginobilli/Duncan.

well their future 1st round picks might be relatively low given
Manu & Tim’s age or Parker and Manu’s injuries.

Good trade except
Portland gets nothing in return except for MORE salary cap room, and I don’t know if they really need Belinelli to make their team better
by pinkycheal on Nov 7, 2008 11:00 AM PST up reply actions 0 recs
3 way
Knicks get Harrington and Williams from Warriors
Bobcats get Curry from Knicks
Warriors get Wallace from Bobcats and Lee from Knicks.
Warriors take on Wallace’s long term contract, but get two good players. Charlotte gets their center, Knicks get a useful player and dump a player that doesn’t fit.
Straight Harrington/Curry/Wallace deal works, but Warriors lose on long term salary, so they should get the added pluses of dumping Williams and adding Lee.
by old49er on Nov 7, 2008 11:02 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
Best of all
The Warriors get the two players in the deal worth a damn, while the other teams get the players who suck. I mean, what could possibly be wrong with that?

Im super down to turn Al Harrington into David Lee. However, looking at the numbers in this trade im not so sure san antonio does this. Here’s one of the few ways i was able to get the numbers to work.
Warriors get- David Lee, Jerome James (expiring contract), Matt Bonner (a rich man’s Bobby Kurz)
Knicks get- Fabricio Oberto, Al Harrington, Bruce Bowen
Spurs get- Eddy Curry
Why this is probably unreasonable-
The spurs are giving up two rotation guys and getting back one really fat, unhealthy guy in curry with a lot of question marks surrounding him.
Bowen and Oberto are definitely not D’antoni guys.
David Lee is by far the best guy in the deal, i would have to imagine we would have to throw someone to the spurs like belinelli to make this work which i would totally be down for. Still im not sure if everyone involved goes for something like this
by MO-ped MO-problems on Nov 7, 2008 12:21 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
It won’t happen. Lee is not on the table for Harrington. The Knicks aren’t looking to turn their underpaid, young, respectable PF into an overpaid, peaked out tweener forward who isn’t particularly effective in most capacities. It’s unreasonable because the Knicks don’t have Isiah as their GM anymore, and SAN gets nothing out of the deal, save the right to start paying a guy who helps a team lose games when he’s on the court.

Fair enough
Thanks for bringing me back to earth. I saw that article and I got a little excited.
What about the wallace possibility? Is there any concievable situation in which we turn Al in Gerald Wallace? Maybe im biased, but I really dont see it with Al. I dont get why any team would be interested in him, I would be through the moon if we could bring back a rotation player for him.
ok enough with space traveling analogies.

Curry
The Warriors would have scored and got back on defense before Curry even cross the half court line.

No Eddy Curry for us
The straight Harrington for Malik Rose and David Lee is fine for me though. I like David Lee.
Or the Gerald Wallace one, but I still want to see Marco play.
I will always be your fan JRich. Good Luck
