Game #22: Warriors vs Bucks - Keep it Going!

Milwaukee Bucks at Golden State Warriors, Dec 10, 2008 7:30 PM PST

Xin_2821104101627781363511_medium

He's still on the Bucks right?

Warriors: 6 -15
Bucks: 9-14
Tip-Off: 7:30 PM PST
TV: CSN
Radio: KNBR 680

God, it feels good to change the win column in the record above instead of the losses column.  I don't think I've ever done that for the Warriors.

Allow me to take a minute to reflect on this.  I honestly can't remember the last time we won - well, it was 10 games ago so...

Don't worry, there's no bad joke about Yi still being on the Bucks.  I did my research this time.

I can't seem to find any definitive answers as to if Jax, Maggs, or JC are about to play tonight.  But as we found out on Monday, we don't SJax or Maggette to win!  We can beat ANY team!  Right?  Right?

I think this Monday's game was the start of a 9 game winning streak.  Any takers on that bet?

R Dizzle's Predictions

  • Warriors by 5
  • Beans serves another double-double
  • Marco pulls out and has another mighty fine game and i feel stupid for saying he should go
  • B Wright gets 10 mins of playing time
  • 2-Morrow hits 3 hot 3s
  • Yi Jianlin sits in New Jersey watching the game wishes he was with the Warriors

Let the 9 game winning streak begin!

Its always a bad sign,

when your coach compares beating the worst team(possibly EVER according to John Hollinger http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&page=PERdiem-081204) in the NBA to wininng a championship.

But if we do win toady we should be able to pull ourselves out of the ‘Worst Teams in Leauge’ category to ‘Just a Really Bad Team’ category. Baby steps people.

Ellis to the rim.

hmm

Jackson really needs to rest that hand. He’s just gonna ding it up even more and that’s not gonna help anyone. Oh…AND he has something wrong with his foot?? Jeez. If anything, we’d probably need him more so Friday than tonight

by bogeydead4 on Dec 10, 2008 3:13 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Prediction

Wright goes for 15pts 9reb 3blk in 19 minutes. Then gets benched for failing to look like an NBA big man while rebounding and sits the rest of the game. Nellie is overheard yelling “I will make you my b***h!!” as Brandan heads to the bench.

19 pts, 7-11 FG, 7 rebs, 4 dimes

Marco

15 pts, 5-7, 3 rebs, 2 dimes

But

Marco only play 15 minutes. CJ almost never left the floor.

Then again, Nellie loves CJ…

Of course...

The one game I absolutely have no ability to watch, my g/f’s fav player shoots like a beast. Then again, I guess I’m not that upset.

Somethings to say

1. I never doubted Marco Belinelli. I’ve always said he is a good team player and defender.
2. This is what happens when you do not play Maggette in the fourth quarter…We Win
3. We have ball movement this time, though I wish they would pass a bit more to the open man (like Belinelli)
4. Trade Maggette for a Pick
5. Hasheem Thabeet ’09 Movement!

I will always be your fan JRich. Good Luck

Correction

This is what happens when we do not play Maggette at all. We Win!

Marco and CJ

are beasts of the night!! the ball movement was great. at times they over did it, almost blew a 14 point lead. 4th quarter was a nice treat after all the recent struggles. i loved how they shared the ball tonight. AWESOME WIN

so?

just gives us extra cap room. it will never happen, just saying

by AJC3317 on Dec 10, 2008 10:21 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

i'd do the kirilenko trade in a heartbeat

frees up 2 extra years of cap space, would fit well with the system, would look imposing next to beans, get us another pick in this draft or maybe ask for 2010

Jack's quick threes

I saw him hesitate shooting those quick threes in the first quarter. Then his restraint died in the third… He needs to work on that.

If we can

Win one of the next 2 games (vs. Houston, @ Denver), then I honestly think we can have enough confidence and momentum to make a run at a 3-2 roadtrip where we face, respectively, Indiana, Atlanta, Charlotte (sans JRich), Orlando and Miami. Then follow it up with an epic last second win vs. Boston for the second year in a row.
duuuuuuubs!

What I find funny is.

When Wright, Randolph, or Marco are doing bad, people wanna jump ship and trade him. People never give em chances.

Hasheem "The Dream" Thabeet or Brandon Jennings. A Warrior in 09.
With the 6th Pick in the 2009 MLB Draft, the SF Giants pick Donovan Tate.
Andre Smith in Silver & Black in 2009.

i definetly dont want to trade any of the above

Only Maggs, Jax’s contract I dont like, as a package they’d be reasonable

NO TRADE!

Oh poo. no trade. Making trades when you have a young team is just not a good idea. did anyone expect us to be 17-6 at this point, after losing our best player, and having the youngest team in the league??

These things take time. I don’t want to be like our inland nor*cal brethren….

What up with crawford?

Only 4 pts, ouch.

Personally, if we had mags play ~20 mins and get to the line and score some, we would have been better off. Problem is he plays too much, just like sjax.

Btw, mwilliams, for someone who never plays, seems to be cheering and talking a lot, which is nice I guess.

Yeah...

We’ve needed a new cheerleader ever since Sarunas went back to Europe.

Missed the first half

He wasn’t playing in the 4th where we had the magic run.

by mosdl on Dec 10, 2008 11:26 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Wish we had barnes

In the Laker game, his inbound passes were awsome. I always hoped mwilliams would be that kind of person, but he barely every plays.

Perhaps marco can be that, he seems to be a nice passer.

by mosdl on Dec 10, 2008 10:44 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

that was the best 4th qua they’ve ever played :D

Indeed

Pretty sweet for him.

I wish I could get excited that Marco did it big for two games in a row, but…you know after he plays one bad game he will go back to the bench for two more months. It’s frustrating as hell.

by belilaugh on Dec 10, 2008 11:13 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Defense

His defense/passing should keep him in – see morrow and his minutes.

New small ball – cj/marco playing together == lots of ball movement.

only Biedrins block in nba.com top10

@ #5

sometimes people don’t want to talk hoops, they just come here to act a fool.

Tyson Chandlers block

was ranked #10, Biedrins block was ranked #5, yet NBA.com gives the Chandler block the “block of the day” Also not having Belinelli’s behind the basket shot in the top 10 was ridiculous.

Everyone should head out to BeliRocky's hood and have'em some Lasagna de Belinelli

Then everyone would start playing team ball and making crazy crossover assists.
Jackson needs several servings of that Lasagna

CJ needs to keep playing that elbow jumpshot. Always MONEY.

When was the last time we played the youngins because we were actually winning and owning a team, instead of losing hope nellie-style? Haha.

Starter would be nice, but I like Marco coming off the Bench
…he’s a good backup point guard, noh?

by DubCurse on Dec 11, 2008 12:58 AM PST reply actions   0 recs

i just watched this game off my DVR

it was awesome… i actually think everyone played well tonight… even jax/crawford… stats don’t matter…
but for the most part i agree… we almost looked like the jazz for a second… scoring off cuts and screens… good ball movement… not too much dribbling.
we played great though there were a couple times in the fourth where marco/azubuike were clapping to get watson’s attention and didn’t see them… he kinda has no court vision… just zeroes into the area he wants to work in… but nevertheless, he played well too…

by dyun on Dec 11, 2008 1:10 AM PST reply actions   0 recs

Marco's sportscenter play

What was interesting was that after he made it and turiaf was jumping all over, marco wasn’t celebrating but rather running to set up defense. That shows character.
