Hornets fan trade question.

Whatup G state. I was wondering how high the dissatisfiaction level is with Maggette. The Horents were one of the teams seeking his services. Would you consider a trade of Mike James, Julian Wright and a 2010 first round pick for Maggette?

Mike aint much right now, but I was wondering if it would be worth it to you guys since its a 2010 contract, and you get juju and a pick. I like juju alot, and I think he'd be great in Nelson's system. He is a smart athletic swing who is capable and willing to play the 4. He also is a great defender, who gets and is committed to team defense and doesnt require alot of shot, which is something  G state needs right now.

What are your thoughts? Thanks.

wouldnt hate it

altho it seems like we’d be practically giving Maggette up for free… however as a result of his crappy contract, a trade like this may be alright

YES

We should……

If it happens, we’ll probably waive James and keep Wright and the draft pick……..

Maggette Trade

I’d rather see the Warriors acquire a power forward in exchange for a wing player. There’s plenty of wing players on the roster.

Haha well... we have Hilton

Although, honestly, if Nelson was committed to using a more traditional 4 wouldnt they be using their young guys? I think juju would be an ideal 4 for Nelli. He is also a good distributorm and someone who will make the extra pass, andother thing you guys need.

i think nellie would like julian

but he’s kind of a mix of wright and randolph’s games

naa

Randolph and Wright are already at the 4 and as we just saw against the rockets, unless we get a center, players like yao ming who are strong 5’s will simply kill us in the 4th quarter en route to a blowout loss…. warriors need a center

Sure, why not.

Julian had a very nice all-around rookie season, plays much better D than Maggs, and could give us an occasional “All-Wright” look upfront. Not quite sure where he’d fit in the Jackson/Randoplh/Wright spectrum, but somehow he seems born to play Nellieball (or better yet, Smartball).

Out of curiosity, why would you want to get rid of him? Has he regressed this year?

yea I doubt Hornet management would go for that, but I’d jump on it. Even without the draft pick. They may actually want to take Belinelli or Williams off our hands too since they seem to someone to pick up a few spare PG minutes.

but no one is going to give us one

Id do it, its a bad contract

I see the future, and it is Pablo

by CB30 on Dec 5, 2008 8:14 PM PST reply actions

he probably would still have signed in new orleans

since he was the “missing piece” and they are a far, far better team than we are…

…but i would love posey at 3/30.

but if the Warriors offered Posey 50mill I know he'll reject

because he’s not greedy and just wants another championship ring

Another championship ring.

He could of stayed in Boston then couldn’t he? Wouldn’t he have a better chance there to repeat.

You have to wait for the heart to beat? Why so indecisive?

Maggs is a better player than he’s shown, and I’m not one to believe that “fit” is overly important if someone can play the game, but getting out of 5 more years of watching this and getting someone with something remotely resembling promise in J.Wright would be great!

team needs a center… until then, overpaid 3’s that won a few championships won’t do a thing… without a true center and a commitment to defense from the suits of the franchise, the warriors will always be at best a 7th-8th seed but because of that jackson extension and that bedriens extension, they are screwed financially for the next 3 years until the next mistake comes about… until there is a change in ownership, this franchise will never flourish

Thankgs guys

First of all, I am really impressed with the level of response you guys get on your boards. The Chris Paul movement is still young in the big easy but hopefully we’ll get there some day. Anyways, I am suprised with the level of interest.

Just so you know, I absolutely love what juju gives every night and I think hes a great player. Alot of Hornets fans consider him untouchable. But Maggette would be perfect for us. He would negate us having to get a real point guard for the bench, and he would simplify our offensive sets for the bench. The game plan would essentially be, just give the ball to corey and let him get buckets. Also, it would give us a much needed shot creator on the wing.

Its funny because the Hornets and the Warriors, as far as there wings go, are kind of bizarro teams. We have three point shooters who can’t create there own shot, but who except for peja are active acressive defenders. You have amazing shot creators who are offensively devasting, but most of them lack 3 point range and defensive intensity. Still I think that if you guys had kept b diddy, or if monta was healthy that you would still be in it. Anyways, good luck with the rest of the season guys.

Done

I believe we have a deal, sir. I’ll have my people fax over the papers to your people. Have fun with Maggette

David West

Now, that’s a real perfect 4 for Nellie

by lightz0ut on Dec 6, 2008 1:10 PM PST reply actions

Derrick Rose

Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwight Howard would be the perfect 1-5 for Nellie…

David West for Maggs straight up!

WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...
