Believe
What happened everyone? I thought you guys believed in the Warriors or was it just a one year thing? C'mon we are the fans and no matter how bad they play we should still support them. They are "Warriors" and they will start fighting back. Don't be hating when things go wrong. It's part of the game. I know many of you wore the "We Believe" shirt back in the 06-07 season and I know many of you still have them in your closets somewhere. If you don't like them anymore, I guess you are a bandwagoner. We all know that their is a little belief in you, so show it. We need to start supporting these Warriors at Oracle and start getting those W's! We need to re-start the WE BELIEVE!
This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Future
Yeah, the future still looks bright for the team. We have a lot of young talent.

I believe
I no longer believe. What are we believing in? that we will suddenly play defense? that doesn’t happen from believing.

too many pansies who quit on the coach who saved this franchise after a couple losses.

The 07 playoffs was a fluke
the planets had to align for us to make the 8th. Nelson gave us more wins with his style, but his stubbornness will not allow us to get over the hump.

too many pansies who give the coach who saved the franchise a free ride

we have 2 actual big men
no other coach available is better than nellie, something else needs to change, not him.

not saying we should fire him
but to say that nellie doesn’t take most of the responsibility for this is giving him a free ride. It’s becoming glaringly obvious that this unit can’t play small ball. Nellie has also thus far failed to create a consistent rotation for our players. Can anyone name ANY OTHER TEAM in the league where their rotation changes on a game by game basis? Tonight it was crawford and watson in the backcourt, next week it will be kurz and beans in the front court?
Our players deserve a consistant rotation. It’s easy to say that Baron leaving and Ellis getting injured are the cause of our problems. It’s harder to say that our coaching staff thus far has not maximized the potential of the players we have. This may be the leagues youngest team, but when I look at the players we have, it’s not a team that screams to me 9 game losing streak. It’s not a team to me that screams 5 wins going into december. Nellie absolutely deserves to carry a good deal of the blame so far.

You're right...
…after all, you can’t change horses mid-stream, right?
In all honesty, the frequency with with I see Nelson’s advocates mention that there isn’t a better coach out there is telling in and of itself. The idea that you keep a guy who’s coaching the worst defense in the NBA (and in my opinion one of the worst I’ve ever seen) because there’s nobody else better is ludicrous. I realize his teams never play defense, but you know what? That’s one way in which he is a POOR COACH. Just because he hasn’t taught a team to D up in twenty years doesn’t mean that’s no longer part of his job description. Avery Johnson taught the Mavs how to D up. Is Johnson a better coach than Nelson? That’s arguable. Is he a more complete coach (offense AND defense) who’s just sitting out there without any tie to any other organization? That, to my mind, is not arguable.

I believe
but I am sick of the lack of a real superstar on the W’s. I’ve been fan since the late 80’s and I think we are due. I’m sorry but Mullin, Hardaway, Webber, Baron, Antawn, and Richardson do not count. We deserve a Shaq, Lebron, Kobe, Magic, Bird, etc.

Not really. Basketball is not that important to this area. The places where there is no good reason to live deserve the better players to give the residents a reason to get up in the morning. We can always go to the beach and forget about it.

And
That’s why the stadium is always packed? I like the humanitarian attitude you have, but seriously, the loyal fans have endured enough and are long overdue for something positive.

Baron doesn't count?
he friends with with just about everyone in hollywood, brought the likes of Jessica Alba and Snoop to the Oracle, has a huge fan following worldwide and directed his own movie. How much more do you need to achieve superstar status?

The Warriors
have been my favorite team ever since I was little and I’ve stuck with them for so long. They will always be my favorite team and I will still believe that they can win, but right now I don’t think they really believe in themselves. Like I said in one of my other comments, they need something or someone to motivate them to want to play defense and do whatever it takes to win.

Former bandwagon "We Believe"-er, but now a true fan
I’ve rediscovered the Warriors after coming back to the Bay after about 10 years in the Philippines. Even though these aren’t the same Warriors as the squad of the last two years, they’re still my team.
Dubs for life.

being a fan doesn mean beliveing in the team blindly.
by sam23 on Dec 7, 2008 2:09 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
please don't believe
Ignorant fans that still believe in this season or the next five are exactly what Cohan/Rowell want. Go ahead and believe we are actually aN NBA team worthy of the fans’ support and continue lining their pockets. 60% ticket sales increase over the last 3 years?!?!—that’s ridiculous. I, for one, wholeheartedly believe we suck and opt to support my team through my living room.
PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE IN:
-A Money-driven owner who cares nothing about the fans
-An inept, power hungry President
-A stubborn coach who doesn’t actually coach
-Players with bloated contracts, who don’t play D, don’t rebound, and only want to put up #’s

I thought you guys believed in the Warriors...
I’m sure we do, but are stuck believing in other things like
“How am I gonna pay this months mortgage after they cut my wifes hours at work… again.”
Gotta believe in Hustlin’!

I believe
but I’m done with We Believe. That was two years ago and it sucks for the many fans still suckered into that marketing ploy.
This season is more reminiscent of “A Greeeeeeaaaat time out!”
LOL

What happened everyone?
Even belief has it’s limits. Reality sucks. Santa Claus is a department store temp, the easter bunny is in the pot, Jesus died homeless under an overpass. Joy to the world.
