CWebb's First Practice
Just found this on Youtube, thought some of you guys might be interested in seeing this video of CWebb's first practice with the Dubs. Some insight from Capt. Jack, Boom and Nellie...
Looks like he still got his mid-range dropping but it might be some camera work. Let's hope that he hits those jumpers in critical game situations. Overall, I can't tell by this video but Jack, Boom and Nellie seem excited.
here is the link.

Anyones else spot
which leads me to think that one unexpected "side effect" of bringing in Webber is that he can show our young bigmen that they don't have to be solely focused on playing in the paint, rebounding, and scoring in the post. Notice that most of the clips showed webber setting up in the high-post/elbow: he's not really athletic or strong enough to back defenders down or take them off the dribble from this spot but he can shoot and pass with the best of them, so it works.
This excites me for two reasons: 1) as Nellie said, once one guy makes it a point to pass, and especially does it with style, that affects the rest of the team & 2) Wright will get a first hand look at how a skilled big actually performs, and Wright has a lot more physical tools than the Webber of 2008.
One can only hope he'll begin to contribute by season's end, if not sooner....
lololol
And you think that would be a good thing for them to learn? They should be solely focused on that.
Brandan Wright
wow, way to miss the point
Really??
If Nellie had simply given Wright his 15 minutes per game this year, he'd already be a major contributor and have developed his game much much further. In fact, the more you play young players, the faster they reach their potential, even if they are still wearing braces & make Kate Moss look fat.
now that that's out:
The truth is that there are still plenty of minutes to go around. The day that Wright is talented enough to take playing time from Barnes, Al, even CWebb and MP2 will be a very happy one for Nellie, should he still be around to see it. And every single one of the players mentioned in this post has enough range on their shot to play with each other in Nellie's system.
Wright deserves more playing time, and I'd love to see him get it when starters on both teams are still playing and playing hard. But adding CWebb doesn't mean he's any less likely to get that PT. Until he puts on another 15 pounds or so, its Pietrus and Barnes that stand in Wright's way.
cwebb in bad shape?
i guess its to be expected considering he hasn't played in a while, but i hope he devotes enough effort to get on track as quick as possible.
Also another Webber topic,
yeah
him and Thud could have made sweet music together..yeah not so much.
Heres a video

I'm excited
Last month, I bought an old school Warriors warmup jacket on eBay. I had been looking for one for the longest time and had actually got outbid for one previously (ending over $150). It's a blue one that's just like the white M&N in the Team Store now. The one I have was actually signed by Webber. Now I don't even know if I want to wear it!
