i agree with you
but as long as we can win at home like we're supposed to then yeah houston has it tide down but it DEN doesnt have it any better.  they play at cleveland today on TV dont they?

Not to sound pessimistic but
Thats only the rest of this month, anything can happen over 1 1/2 months although ours and houstons schedules are the easiest. But then again anything can happen right.

anything can happen...
but if we close out this month like we should, then we will continue to talk post season ball in march.

Ya
A couple games ago I remember seeing a stat saying we had the 5th toughest schedule based on win percentage so far... so it should get easier. That said we've seen that this team can beat anybody and lose to anybody. We really need Baron to get out of his shooting slump before we face Phx/Bos/Utah

out of those
3 games...  do you think we can end out on top?

really?
based on hollinger's SOS, the warriors have played the 19th easiest schedule (.495) in the league. btw, here's the link http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerranking?season=2008&column=sos&order=true

by the evil monkey on Feb 10, 2008 10:07 AM PST up reply actions

does that mean
they played the 13th hardest schedule?

nope
i think 13 is there overall power ranking based on hollinger's bulls*** formulas. But i believe the SOS  is not hollinger-tampered and shows we've played the 19th hardest schedule in the NBA (it's the fourth column. based on this, out of the 10 west teams in the playoff race, the lakers(opponents winning % is .531), blazers(.520), jazz(.513), rockets(.512), and mavs(.507) have played the toughest schedules based on opposing teams winning % alone (meaning home vs road isn't taken into account).

Ya
It was against the Hornets. I can't remember if it was our telecast or the Hornets' but at the time the Hornets had the 2nd toughest and we had the 5th toughest. We've played 3 losing teams in a row since then so that evened things out.

now that you mention it
i think i remember fitz saying that... though, according to hollinger, the hornets currently stand at 23 w/ an opponents winning percentage of .491

hmmmmm.... i found another link
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/stats/rpi?season=2008&sortColumn=sos
that is more updated maybe that has the warriors now at 18 and hornets at 21.

by this chart
does that mean that phx has the weakest schedule? if thats the case the WTF!

they must have
played a lot of games against the eastern conference, timberwolves, grizzlies, and sonics.

by the evil monkey on Feb 10, 2008 11:07 AM PST up reply actions

in that case, come mid-march
the western conference playoff scene might be totally opposite.. i just hope the dubz can stand on top of all this mess!

portland
just might fall off the face of the earth.  I think reality is going to hit them soon especially with the schedule they have coming up.  So that leaves US, ROCKETS and DENVER to battle out the 7th and 8th.

Yea
I'd like to see how the all star Roy will will work those games out.

by protac6 on Feb 10, 2008 10:03 AM PST reply actions

maybe kobe's injured pinky
might get baron in the all star game... that would be nice...(i dont mean to pry on an injury)

that sched means nothing
as we have just seen our dubs the past month anything can happen, we can loose to the worst team in the west to beating the best team in the west. heck miami could destroy us one day, than we can destroy boston. i feel sorry for people who bet on the dubs cause they are never sure on what to bet for :(
What you thought that I only played basketball? I AM A Golden State WARRIOR!

agree
who we are playing is much less relevant than how we are playing

by azw on Feb 10, 2008 12:59 PM PST up reply actions

our schedule might mean nothing
but look at the HOU, DEN and PORTLAND schedule.  do you think they have a better chance then the warriors or do the dubz have a better chance?
