Kidd going to Dallas imminent
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3250819
It's back on!
Stackhouse and George are out of the trade and have been replaced by Keith Van Horn and Trenton Hassell. So all Dallas loses is Harris, some cash, and any financial flexibility. They keep some depth with Stackhouse.
I'm glad to see Harris leave the Western Conference, as he was one of the peskiest (not to mention annoying) point guards in the west. He was the only Maverick that could consistently get into the paint. The Mavericks now become one of the slowest teams. They are going to miss him.
On the other side, this adds a lot more drama to Warrior-Mavs games as Oakland native Jason Kidd faces his local team. The drama in the West continues.

But really though...
I don't think there is one.
And no, I don't think Ron Artest is the kind of guy who will put the Warriors over the hump.

The same fans that admit we're not even close to being championship contenders are many often times the same fans that are willing to let Biedrins and Monta get paid whatever they desire this offseason just to keep them here, regardless of how it completely handicaps the front office from bringing in more talent.
I ask these fans this: If we believe that we're that far away from being contenders with the talent that we have right now, then why should we be willing to spend all of our salary cap room just to stay put and keep our roster the same? Are we under some crazy disillusionment that Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins are somehow magically going to turn into Dwyane Wade and Kevin Garnett for us?
I'm not saying we should just let Ellis and Biedrins walk. But I'm not a big fan of turning down opportunities to bring in more talent just because we have all of our eggs in the "Ellis and Biedrins" basket.

uh huh
You probably also think that Monta is going to be shooting 53% for the rest of his career too, right?

The Nets
Might as well hand them the trophy now.
Is that dude even still alive?

Keith Van Horn
He's probably going to suffer a "mysterious injury" after the trade and end up not playing, so it'll be as if he weren't even part of the player exchange, just included to make the finances work out. Not a bad deal for Mr. Van Horn, he's gonna collect a couple million dollars for just having his name involved in the trade and doing absolutely nothing. Probably won't even have to move anywhere.
