Rumor: W's Trade TPE...

...to their fans in exchange for discount on all 2008-09 tickets. The (roughly) $10 MM TPE divided by about 17,500 seats equals $571 per seat, divided by 41 games results in savings of $14 per ticket per game.

GSW fans could not be reached for comment, as they were all busy converting their $14 per game savings into a medium soda and churrrrrrrrrrros at the Roaracle.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Haha
The timing of this diary is great, just as FJ and I got the Warriors season ticket bill for 2008-2009. The price just went up over $800, something like $10 per game per seat if I remember correctly. To tell you the truth I'm not so sure we even have enough in the GSoM funds to cover that. This could very well be the first and last season we're all season ticket holders and are able to hold those goofy free ticket contests here for lowerbowl tix.

That's a pretty substantial price hike for a team that keeps sending out vibes that it's all about this mythically bright future and not so much about now. How about the price hike comes when that bright future is realized and they don't have one of the lowest payrolls in the entire league?

Barring something spectacular tomorrow (fingers crossed!), the Warriors ownership isn't playing/ paying to win right now, so why should we?

Totally
The price is kinda high now, at $50/$65 a seat for baseline sections @ Oracle. I'll probably renew for 1 more year, but if it goes higher than that, I guess no more tickets. :(

Season Tix Suggestion
Just a thought Atma...

My brother and I split lower bowl season tickets with two other couples.  We each get 14 games, 11th row ($100 face) - and it runs each of us about $1K.  (season ticket discount).  This is year 3 for us, bill for year 4 just arrived.

If you can get 6 people in, it is really worth it IMO.  Just a suggestion...
