Sam Cassell
If Cassell agrees to a buyout, he is placed on waivers for a few days, so his return to Boston isn't guaranteed even if they are his number one choice. The Warriors have enough room under the luxury tax to claim him and not go over. link
I'm not sure if getting Cassell would be too smart for the Warriors considering he'd be pretty pissed at us. What I don't get is why an Eastern conference team like the Cavs, Magic, or Pistons don't claim Cassell just to block him from the Celtics. Perhaps they don't want the negative publicity that would come with a move with such disregard for the player's wishes? Or they don't want to be seen as a franchise that doesn't care about the player since that might scare off free agents in the future?

Question...
Not that I expect the Dubs at this point to jump on the Barry bandwagon or to make a run at Casell(that would be pretty hilarious)... just curious.
That is correct

Waivers
waivers
So what's stopping an Eastern Conference rival
forget it
why
Cassell
Cassell?
I do have to agree that if the waivers in the NBA work like MLB, then someone out east should definatley swoop in on him. The Cavs make the most sense.
If we pick up anyone it should be Magliore. If he heads to Dallas and displays anything close to all-star form, he makes Dallas better and tougher for us to beat.
What?
He makes Dallas worse not better.

I recently read
Change of Scenery
Looking back on his time with Baron, I think he would have contributed off the bench as a true center. We aren't looking for major minutes, just some production.
