You thought CALI produced the best players? Peep TEXAS

My next NBA State Tournament matchup features a talented Texas team vs. Everyone Else (14 states!) in the West, led by Mr. Big Shot, Mike Miller, and Azubuike!

And it's no contest: I picked Texas for my 1st sweep. After they advance, they are going to face the loaded CALIFORNIA squad for a truly epic battle to see who moves on to represent the West.

After thoroughly analyzing this Texas team, they look incredibly scary. See for yourself...

Star-divide

Where are the best NBA players coming from? Do certain states excel at producing certain positions? Which states have the most talent per capita?

Most importantly, who's going to go all the way? Help me decide by voting for each matchup, and we'll crown an NBA State Champion right around the time of the NCAA Championship game.

The Alaska Boozers
Were already part of the Pacific Northwest Team, IIRC...

Meanwhile
That Texas team is sick. I'd probably cheat and make Rashard Lewis my starting shooting guard, giving this starting 5:

PG -- Deron Williams
SG -- Rashard Lewis
SF -- Chris Bosh
PF -- LaMarcus Aldridge
C -- Shaq/Okafor

I may have to put my money on that team as the eventual champ...

Alaskan Boozers LOL
Thanks for paying attention Sleepy Freud. Yeah, that Texas team is way tougher than I thought they would be. Half the teams have yet to be unveiled however, so there are more contenders still out there.

Meanwhile, can you believe how freakin close the voting on this matchup is?

I'm not sure why all those people are hating on Texas. But I digress...

At one point in the past the All Oakland city team
would have included

PG-Kidd
SG-Payton
SF-JR Rider
PF-Antonio Davis
C-Greg Foster

bench-Brain Shaw

sure Kidd and Payton are both points and Greg Foster was a scrub but pretty amazing talent for a city of 400K

Stretch time and place a bit and you can add in Drew Gooden (I won't go Paul Pierce but he was born in Oakland)

Can we include one of the greatest players of...
All time in the Oakland city team, I think the McClymonds High School grad Bill Russell was pretty handy with the round ball.

all Oakland
Leon Powe over Greg Foster any day, no question

For the all Oakland
I was tying to do a team that actually all played at the same time

It was pretty amazing when Oakland had 6 NBA players at the same time in the mid 90's.  For a city of 400K that is something else

ProAM in SF during that time was off the hook too when GP and Kidd played

yeah
those states combined population is probably almost equivalent to that of texas...
