What will the record be?

The warriors are 41-24 and heading into the final stretch of the season, its make or break time for the playoffs. I know the warriors are difficult to predict on wins and losses but that doesn't mean I dont try to predict their record ever day.

He's out "indefinitely"
According to the LA Times:
"Pau's out for sure for the Houston game, most likely out for the rest of the trip, but we don't really want to say that for sure," Lakers spokesman John Black said. "He'll be reevaluated in two or three days. It's not great, but it's not horrible."

Gasol said after the game that he hoped to miss only two weeks after sitting out about that long when he suffered a sprained left ankle in training camp that produced "similar pain, a similar reaction," he said.

Let's hope Pau's wish comes true: missing "only" two weeks would mean missing both Ws games. Fingers crossed...

dang
you think we will lose to denver twice? looks like we won't make the playoffs.

by saintdee on Mar 16, 2008 7:17 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

You have us losing both to denver huh?
I think they will be really focused in those games and will bring their A game. I gotta think they will win at least 1 of those.

If gasol misses both games they will at least
split. I want that damn staple center curse to end.

2W over Dallas, 2L to Denver?
I'm not smart enough to predict this team, since they play over their heads one night and down to the competition the next - maybe we should pick opposite expectations?

As long as we hold Denver under 168
I'll consider it a moral victory.

Which begs the question: would anyone here bet even money on the #1 Rockets in a 7-game series v. the also-ran Nuggets? I don't think I would...

WE should beat dallas I am not a believer
in the trade at all. I just don't think we match up well with denver, especially in Denver. Maybe thats me just remembering all the terrible blowouts we historically are on the bad side of there.

I predict 51 wins
But I won't reveal which games we'll win and lose.

All the players and coaches agree
that this season is not like any other in recent memory with the tough competition. But then I don't see why they think 50 wins is a safe number. Maybe in any other year, but this year, I have no idea if 50 is good enough.

And goddamn, I remember when the Warriors were losing by double digits to the Sonics. Denver just beat them by 50+. That legitimately scares me, how well Denver plays against teams we don't play well against.

well
i think they are motivated to get into the playoffs... warriors are "cruising"

by saintdee on Mar 16, 2008 10:04 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

"cruising"
i hear this over and over again on this site.

the warriors lost because they were cruising...

i think its bs! the warriors lose because they have some glaring weaknesses on their roster that their determination cannot always make up for.

what you see as cruising in the warriors play is an effect of their loose playing style.. if they lose its cruising if they win its WE BELIEVE. I think its an inarticulate diss on the warriors style of basketball.

the dubs lose because we lack size, rebounding, and consistent team defense. More so, a small rotation and a tendency to rely to much on jumpers can really burn the team out mentally and physically.

these are just my thoughts but even if you don't agree with my thoughts on the dubs style i think the "cruise" angle needs to die

Adam
on his Fast Break column has posted a good prediction of the next games. here´s the link:

51-31 is pretty good and I think that will give us a playoff spot, I dont know what spot, but we will get in!

F**K REFS!!!

I'm looking at 50-32
vs. 49-33 for Denver.  We both have a tough stretch run.  We'll split the games we play against each other almost for sure.  We'll pull one out, we'll screw one up.  They'll do the same.  The only question is "Does either Phoenix or Dallas or San Antonio (WTF?!?!) keep sucking and fall back into our range?"  I say highly unlikely at this point, but we'll see.

Also, did anybody see the Daily Dime on ESPN?
They're lumping us in with Atlanta, Chicago, etc. as "pretenders and contenders"... insulting to say the least.

One win against the Lakers...
I think we have a chance to beat the LA Fakers at Orcale on the 24th. Speaking of LA, I a have feeling the Lakers won't be fully healthy when it comes to playoff time. It's more of a hope than a feeling.

What shall it be?
I'm thinking 54-28. 13-4 would've sounded crazy once, but we went 16-5 last year, and since the W's have had a tendency this year to lose a game and then win 2 or 3, this actually looks quite possible to me. Should we pray on it? :^D
