Poster Ideas vs Mavs game.

Hey guys, sorry if this isn't worth being a diary but I want people's opinions. I'm going to the Warriors/Mavs game this Sunday and got lower level tickets for the first time so I'm pretty excited. Anyways, I'm thinking of creating/designing a poster for the game and was looking for ideas or tips. There doesn't seem to be a size requirement so I'll probably be making an 11x17 sized poster however my ex might be making a 18x24 poster. Would that be too large and be confiscated? (I'm looking at you Tony.psd)

I was also wondering if anyone had any ideas for posters. I'm leaning toward making one for our bench players so it'll be a little more fresh. My ex is making one that says Belinelli [for] 3! Currently my ideas was a poster that said "The Quiet Storm Plays My Kind of Basketball". Which if you listened to the radio station might make sense. However any other ideas would be appreciated. I remember a while ago someone suggested Tony.psd make a B.Wright/Inspector Gadget or Dhalsim poster but I wouldn't want to rip off someone's idea w/out permission. Thanks for everyones time and if this doesn't warrant it's own diary then feel free to delete it. Go Warriors!

Night at the Roxbury
warriorgirl mentioned that Jackson and Monta were at an 18+ club or something, and since Tony.psd seems to prefer movie themed posters, I had posted a request for Tony.psd to do a Night at the Roxbury with those two. I don't know if he read it, so that might be an idea for you.

Or maybe you could recreate the scene where Stephen Jackson launched that extra deep three the other night @Lakers that gave us back our 4 point lead.

Make an FSN poster
An FSN poster might be easier to get on TV.  You know, one of those posters that are like an anagram or something:

Warriors IN THE PLAYOFFS??

  •    For
  •    Shizzle
  • my Nizzle
I pray i never have to use a gun again.

I was going to make a sign
but my cheap butt could only afford the nosebleeds. Anyway, I think a good sign would be making fun of Cuban on DWTS:

or if you want to battle karma and use this kind of pic:http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/2042965.jpg?v=1&c=ViewImages&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF1934A2752 006EF5F0ED7FEDC7E0A23A1CE85A5397277B4DC33E
with a caption like "Still UPSET?"

sign sizes...
19x20.5 is my magic number... Guest service folks don't complain anymore  and it's just right to stow between your legs or to the side of your seat.

I get requests and suggestions on top of the idea's listed in my head on a daily basis. I add a lot of stuff as well when I'm inspired by movies I watch or anything the players say in those "In the paint " videos they play during the games.

My best is advice I've learned is use less words. The less words and visible whatever image you use, the faster the players and fans can catch on. If you have a wall of text at the sign, peeps ignore it. I look at my signs as if they were billboards you pass through 60 miles an hour on a freeway... thats how long they spend looking at it. Think like a fan and design something peeps recognize. You don't have to be a designer 2 be creative! Have fun with it!

I was gonna do a How to design signs how-to video this season but it just takes way too much time. Hopefully next season!

...and it's like that! Coz' that's the way it is... Dubz!

Cool.
Thanks for the size tip. I knew my Watson idea was a bit wordy but it was just something I had in my mind since I found out about his nickname. Anyways, I should think it through. I actually am a Graphic Designer but that doesn't necessarily make posters much easier. It just lets me know what NOT to do but  thinking of a good idea is just as hard. With all the Azubuike votes thus far. Maybe a "Welcome to the Gun Show poster" which will be more iconic.

My Idea
is a sign indicating that the Mavericks have a Texas-sized problem, and have a pic of the Warriors logo.

Cuban
You gotta do something with Mark Cuban.  He's the dude that i love to hate on that organization.  Maybe a pic of Cuban taking it up the...  no, scratch that... not family friendly.  Maybe something making fun of his dancing with the starts stint.  Or maybe Thunder smoking a cigar that looks like him.
I pray i never have to use a gun again.

Loser Lakers
I really like that pic. Did you do that yourself with photoshop? God I really wanna know how to use that. I wanna make posters for games but I don't know how. I really really really hate the Lakers though. Their fans were irritating at the game.

you should make a poster...
saying

Dallas Mavs

2006 - 2007: BEST RECORD IN THE NBA
2007-2008: 9TH PLACE

GO WARRIORS! WE BELIEVE!

I'm gonna use your idea for a second poster. If I get it signed or anything I'll ever try to get it to you if we're ever in the same city or something.
