Air France now looking to stay in Oakland?
Two months ago, Golden State Warriors forward Mickael Pietrus stated repeatedly that he wished to be traded, no longer desiring to be a member of a team that was giving him sporadic minutes and making him play out of position. He now would like to take those sentiments back. When the Warriors, unmoved by Pietrus' pleas, held onto the fifth-year player as the non-waiver trade deadline passed on Feb. 21, the consensus — supported by one of Pietrus' own agents — was that he would walk out of Oakland as an unrestricted free agent at season's end and take up with one of the 29 other NBA teams before consenting to return to the Warriors. But Pietrus made it clear in an interview with the Contra Costa Times that he is very much open to the idea of staying with the only NBA team he has ever known. Warriors executive vice president Chris Mullin, who could see nine of his 14 current players become free agents this summer, is amenable to such a move.

Au revoir MP2
Dude, just leave already. MP2 is sooooooo average. Let him go so when can get someone else who is more productive.

haha
check out this quote
" "I know everybody in the organization, I know every player, so for me, if they want me, I'll stay," Pietrus told the Times. "I think when you look at the team, I'm one of the fan favorites, and one of the team's franchise players, I hope, and then I would like to remain here if they are going to sacrifice for me.""

i think franchise is french for "lamest"
in a postgame interview about a year ago he referred to himself as "the future of the warriors" and i laughed. oh how i laughed
"They can trade me," Bonds said. "I don't think they will, though. It's not like I want to be traded, man. I'm a Giant. I'm stuck here till the end."!

For what it's worth:
I have a friend that is very good friends with pietrus as well as pietrus' manager and asked him after the Denver game as we were waiting at Pietrus' Car in the player parking lot if MP2 still wanted out of Golden State....sure enough, my friend confirmed that he indeed wanted out and find a team where he could sign long term and get more playing time.
Now....it might be safe to assume that if the Dubs give him what he's looking for, then he'd be more than happy to stay here.

Typical French!
"Le Sulk" - As far as I am concerned yes MP2 is a good player, but the one thing I cannot stand is a player that starts to whine about what they are not getting! Is he on of the key players in the team....NO
Is he a respected and useful player to the team YES, as we saw when he was not playing! But the best way t get more court time is to light it up when you do get minutes on court and MP2 just doesnt have his head in the right place to get that respect.
So if you wanna go, GO! Why wouldwe ever want a player that does not want to be here!

he could fit into GS plans
as Jax backup at the three, and that's about it
that role and those dollars are not likely to appease Frenchie, and Barnes is gonna be a cheaper option if Nelson wants either of them back
with Buke improving this year and next, he should be re-signed and get some PT before either MP or Barnes

I'm getting a psychic vision...
As to what could keep Petey in the bay...
It's green...
It's rectangular...
It's worth a lot less than l'euro...
Pietrus will go where the money is. If we make him a good offer, he'll stay. If not, he'll walk. He thinks he's better than he is, but he could still contribute. I'd really be unmoved either way.
then we will fight in the shade.

Sign him
did anyone here notice the past 20 games Pietrus played? Anyone notice the Warriors won-lost record during that stretch? How about Pietrus' PER and rebounding totals? He was our starting forward and leading the team in minutes played before he went down.
He is playing the best ball of his career and NOW people want to see him leave? What idiocy.
Thankfully, cooler heads like Mullin and Nelson know what they have in him. Mullin didn't trade him for a reason and Nelson started him and gave him big minutes for a reason.
We get a player who can defend 3 positions in a pinch. You think that kind of defernive flexibility just grows on trees? Or is it the 40% from three that you don't like? How about what he does for the team speed when he's in the game? Prefer a lesser athlete for a running team? Nelson doesn't. Or is it that he averaged the second fewest turnovers per minute on the team? Yes, he's cocky, yes he plays to the crowd. But --- news flash -- he's also a good player who really fits Nellie's system. Of course they shold try to keep him.

True ...but
appreciate all your points about MP2...BUT....
If he does not want to be here.... he sould go!
If nothing else, this team is about spirit and fight, he should just get on with the game and let his game talk rather than his agent, or worse still himself!
We want players that are good yes, but we als want players that think they are pt of a great team, not how "great they think they are".

HATERS! HATERS! HATERS!
Hey all you guys who were hating Pietrus down the stretch a few months ago were CRYING that he didn’t leave.
I like Pietrus, he should stay with the Warriors, he has hustle and his defense is far superior then the other players on the squad, for crying out loud why get rid of him, he makes a error here and there but honestly I could name so many more faces that does the same times so many!
GO PIETRUS GO AIR FRANCE
I’m still part of your fan club!
