this season only seems fair if...

Mr7728_medium

I wish I could say I went to espn and this was the first scenario that popped up when I went to the draft lottery...

Still, I was willing to click on it all night until I got this result...

I know there's no point in wishing, but tonight was pretty sh*tty so I was trying to look for a bright side somewhere and winning the lottery seemed to be the only one.

And from here on it's rambles to meet the word requirement.  Lots of strange things can happen from year to year.  Maybe there will be snipers at all the playoff games this year leading to a dominant golden state team next year laden with talent.  Okay, that's not very nice, but I heard it on the simpsons, something about the isotopes winning the championship because there was a sniper at the all-star game

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

dope!

that would be amazing! but very unlikely. But anything can happen “where amazing happens” hahaha! Anybody out there think Brandon Rush could be a good fit for the dubs??? Just curious

yea

but i wouldnt draft him at 14. and he wont be there for our 2nd round pick. maybe if we traded down.

if we get lucky with the numnber 1 pick

we get Michael Beasley. That is how we solve our PF problem.

FanShot

baumerworld- Where you been man? Haha I miss the old lengthy analysis and philosophy.

Anyhow a post of this length makes a great FanShot, not FanPost. There’s a reason why we have a character limit for FanPosts (which you usually hit in your typical postings).

Damn

That must of been alot of damn clicks, to get that…I think its pratical that we stay at 14. Salaries are going up, were gonna need all the cap-space we have to scrap a decent bench…cause our boys are gonna get paid next year.

Monta: (12-14/yr…6 yr deal)
Beans: (10-11/yr…5 yr deal)
Baron: (15/yr…3 yr extension)
Buike: (3-4/yr…4 yr deal)
Barnes: (1-2/yr…2/3 yr deal)
Pietrus:( 4-5/yr…4/5 yr deal)

I disagree with most people

when they say Hibbert or Kevin love will be a good fit for the warriors… If we are going to be running small ball, we need a big man who can RUN. Love’s outlet passes are a plus, and he is a decent shooter, but like Hibbert; has slow feet. Love in my mind is another Al Harrington… He’s definitely realistically 6’8’’ (not 6’10’‘). Hibbert is bigger, but I envision him to be O’Bryant 2.0… Just my thoughts.

hibbert is...

TERRIBLE! he is so soft inside its ridiculous. we would get more production from Darell Arthur

by the dubs ya dig!!! on Apr 15, 2008 2:32 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

is thabeet going pro?

if he is he might be worth a shot. as far as i know he can run pretty well and he is a monster shot blocker. besides you can’t go too far off with a guy who can dunk without jumping

my 1st try

dubs landed the 2nd pick and rose.

PF

i think we should solve our power forward problems through free agency not through the draft process. Ya if we get the one or two and a shot at Beasley ofcourse take him but we have a 0.5 percent chance of that happening. I think we should draft CDR from Memphis, long 6”7,quick as hell likes to run, goes to the cup hard and plays solid defense, i think he would come off the bench nicely especially if we dont get pietrus back and we already know barnes is done

no more big men

As long as Nelson is here, it doesn’t matter who is drafted. Does anyone here really think that if we drafted Hibbert, or Hardin, or Darell Arthur, or any other big man out there, that he would get PT? I’m not criticizing his coaching style, but it is not in his philosophy to play rookies or big bangers, at least not in the traditional sense. I don’t think it matters who we draft, unless we get lucky and pick up Beasley. Even then, if we lucked out and got the #1 pick, I’m not sure if I wouldn’t go with Rose.

myths

That’s not entirely true. Nelson doesn’t have something against big men for being big, but he values versatility above all else. If he found a PF who could pass, dribble and shoot, he’s play. (see for example : Nowitzki, Dirk).

He has also played rookies in the past, but only ones who contribute. Richmond played major minutes as a rookie, as did Webber, Hardaway and Sprewell. Nowitzki, despite being a rail thin 18 year-old who seemed half lost in the league, managed 20 mpg as a rookie. The “Nelson won’t play rookies” bit is something of a myth. Nelson won’t play rookies who aren’t going to produce.

Best player available, regardless of position. Nelson will play the best player available if he can play. He tends to regard players over positions.

on big men

Nelly doesnt like to play bigs because nearly all of the big men he’s ever had were incomplete players…. they either cant handle the ball, cant rebound like they should, cant leave the post, etc…. it really is amazing that he plays Biendrins as much as he does, since AB cant put up a shot outside of 5 feet. Someone like Beasley would change that, but realistically we wont have a shot at him. I personally think Donta Green from Syracuse would be a nice fit, as hes long and has a great shooters stroke. And he could be available around 14, if thats where we end up.

Wow. I missed you, dude. The site got way too serious in your absence. I’m going to have a toaster strudel in your honor.

It took 47 tries but..

not quite the same result, but I got the Warriors the number 2 pick! But hey, on the 46 other tries Warriors got Darrel Arthur, who “scouts are worried about his overall lack of rebounding, shot-blocking, toughness and consistency.” I guess he’ll fit right in.

Took me about 30 tries

To get the Warriors the #1 pick
