Baron Davis benched for partying too hard during his B-DAY?

Here's the link to the article:

http://www.wikio.com/sports/basketball/nba/nba_players/baron_davis?wfid=53222248

Alright - I know what you guys are thinking. WHO the hell is this guy posting this report with just a teeny-weeny bit of bias. The guy's obviously a Laker fan or some sort. Sure it's a possibility. Sure it's unacceptable to some degree. But the question remains... why would Nelson discipline Baron in such a way that would have such a negative effect on the team that night AND for the future? It just doesn't make sense.

I won't deny the report because there were also quoted remarks stating that Baron had a "cold" that was "sapping all of his energy." But based on some comments on sports radio shows yesterday morning (Gary Radnich, Razor + Mr. T, Murph and Mac), I'm hoping things don't get uglier than they already are.

We've already had a great season. So tomorrow... being "fan appreciaiton night," let's make it "team appreciation night" in respect to these NBA professionals that exceeded our expectations once again.

I can't wait for tonight's game. I can't wait for draft day and our trade exeption being used. And I certainly can't wait for us to shock the world further.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Doesn't make sense

The report doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. If Baron was out late partying and then was benched as punishment for partying then why was he allowed to play the first half? We’ll likely never truly understand Don Nelson’s decision to sit Baron for the entire second half, especially when his on court leadership could have been used in the final 6 minutes of the 4th quarter.

Huh?

That’s complete trash. I’m not saying BD wasn’t benched for partying, but there is NOTHING in that quote that Bret Edwards uses that any professional writer would base such a negative post and image tarnishing like that on.

Edwards came up with a sensational title and idea and ran with it. Homeboy’s got a biased agenda. He’s NOT a reporter, just a blogger working for $8 a post on FanHouse. The guy has next to no credibility. He’s a Warrior hater (another Mavs fan who made excuses last year) and he and his blogging buddy even took it to racist extremes.

Just wack all around and really unprofessional.

$8 a post?!!

that ain’t not bad.

But wow what a terribly written smear article. He gets completely blasted in his comments, rightfully so, which was nice to see.

"They can trade me," Bonds said. "I don't think they will, though. It's not like I want to be traded, man. I'm a Giant. I'm stuck here till the end."

No wonder why his name sounded faintly familiar.

It never occurred to me that one man could play with the faith of 50 million.

Nellie said...

according to KNBR, that he benched Baron because he simply was having a horrible game. You could believe that or not and I usually never question Nellie but this seems a little fishy. Maybe he was trying to make statement for next season? Trying to prove we could win without Boom Dizzle? Bill Walsh once said, it’s better to get rid of a player 2 years early rather than 2 years too late. I’d never ever question Bill Walsh so I guess we’ll see if Nellie follows the same theory.

What the...?

Who the hell is that guy who posted that? if you go down to the bottom and read the last 2 paragraphs, he rants about how GS were flukey to get in the POs last year and how this year shows the truth. SCREW HIM!

PS – If Baron was having an awful game, then Nellie has the responsibility of taking him off for the better of the team.
