5 wins =Playoffs
Nothing we say will make the Dubs make the playoffs. The Dubs have to make that happen with their desire to win, but with a little investigation and some help from my bookie buddies, I have a very strong feeling the Dubs will make the Playoffs again for the second straight year. Here's why.
The Dubs are ONLY 1 game behind Denver!
There are 7 games left for the Dubs, Nuggets and Mavs.
In all reality we have the softest schedule out of the 3 teams.
Both Dallas and the Nuggets have 4 games on the road and 3 at home. The opposite for the Dubs.
We will beat Denver when we play them at the Roaracle.
The Mavs have to play 4 power house teams while the Dubs and Nuggets only play 3.
The Nuggets have a 4 game road trip which includes GS and Utah for the last of the 4 games (ouch for them).
The Mavs will lose to The Lakers, Phoenix, Utah and NO based on the fact they're 1-10 vs. teams over .500 in their last 11 tries.
The Nuggets will lose to The Dubs, Utah and Houston 2 of which are on the road.
The Nuggets have a beat up Nene and Marcus Camby at the moment.
The Dubs always seem to pull it out when their back is against the wall-well it's now that time!
After looking at the schedules, I truly believe that if we win 5 out of our last 7 we will be in. If we win 6 out of our last 7 we will be in. If we win 7 out of 7 we will be in.
The Dubs will get to the Playoffs although its gonna take a lot of TUMS and a lot of faith. I believe, do you?

not so sure
We lose the tie breaker with Denver (Dallas, too), so we're actually 2 games behind.
Denver has the easier schedule. They can get to 51 wins without any real upsets.
It appears that we need 52 wins
We would have to go 7-0.
That includes wins AT New Orleans and Phoenix.
Of course your bookie is making you optimistic. He's your freakin' bookie!
how do we...
Um.
We have the same number of games remaining, all against conference teams.
The better question is, why do you think our conference records in the event of a tie is a variable?
IF WE TIE, Denver beats us in a head-to-head, same as with Dallas. Look at the records and ponder it.

How do we...
Because
And the second tiebreaker after head-to-head record is conference record.
And they have a better conference record than we do. By two games.
We're one game behind them now, so if we tie them, we'll still be a game behind them in conference record, no matter which specific games we win or lose.
Make sense? I know, it sucks... ;-(

i love the optimism
But realistically speaking what it comes down to is that the Warriors will be dependent on whether Denver or Dallas falter down the stretch of remaining games.
The Warriors have to be perfect (7-0), to get into the playoffs with a teeny bit of breathing room... This will prove to be an extremely tedious task for the dubs.
Anyhow, point is it isn't over til the fat lady sings.
Too far too quit now.
We need a miracle 7-0 in the worst way to make it to the playoffs.
I've invested too much time this season, following and reading up on everything the Warriors do, to attending over half their games (most times paying for my friends ticket so they would come watch them play the griz, bulls, and t-wolves.) to quit now.
In a way I feel like the Warriors owe it the fans to make it to the playoffs. I know it sounds selfish, but to us their more than a basketball team. Their the under-dogs, the silver lining in a era of bad Bay-Area Sports teams. Their what people tune in to see when they get off work, and what people read about in the papers the next morning.
I think Adam at fastbreak, said it best we've invested too much to pass judgement now, we owe them 82 games, and I ain't going to stop BELIEVING till its finally over.
Here's the thing...
