Stack Jack Receives Community Assist Award

Somehow this doesn't seem to be making the rounds, but the NBA gave Jack the Community Assist Award for March...

http://www.nba.com/news/community_award_080403.html

Unfortunately, it's probably difficult to feel excited considering the playoff woes, but it's still good to see Steve get some recognition for all the recent contributions he's made to help out a vast array of people.

Major props to him for stepping up big this year and really dedicating himself to further the causes he feels passionately about. I'm having difficulties recalling any other NBA players in recent memory whom have done so much community work within the span of one season.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Major props to Jack, Al, and Mayor Ronald Dellums for the Silence the Violence event. I heard some parts of it on KMEL's Street Soldiers. That was just excellent work. It's alway great to see people doing giving back to the community.

Thank you ajbry for posting this.

It's too bad
that Jackson can't escape his reputation among fans (besides Warriors fans) and reporters/analysts. I remember when the commentators on ESPN were laughing and joking about him being named captain (just your routine Warrior disrespect).

Props to Jackson.

Nice to See!
It's nice to see that Stack Jack really does want to improve himself.  Maybe with the fact he received this award and most likely cost the Dubs a Playoff spot with his suspension, he will truly realize his past was a little dark.  Hopefully he'll turn his back on his past and continue to be a man's man the way he's been since being a Dub.

Man those six games really bit us in the  a**...

who care....
His crazy ass is boand to run into trouble and gets himself locked up again. Personally, good for him for trying to charge himself, but he better stay positive because were the only team that is will put up with him. The rest of the rest don't want to deal with him.

I only saw 6 post
So I  felt like this deserved at least 10 positive comments.

Stephen has turned a corner in his life and thats bigger than the game of basketball.  By showing us and his peers that his heart is in the right place by becoming the League MVP in giving back to the people.

Stephen is a special all around guy. He defines himself on his own terms and with a lot of heart. The Dubs are and us fans are lucky to have him  in the Bay Area.

Oh,and the John Legend appearance at the Oracle was amazing and for a good cause.
