Jazz/Warriors

Okay, I got a lot of heat with my other proposed trade so I decided to make a little more realistic trade. How About..

Sign And Trade: M. Pietrus

Trade:Al Harrington

Trade: Marco Belinelli

14th Pick

TO: Jazz

Sign And Trade: Paul Millsap

Trade: Ronnie Brewer

Trade: Morris Almond

23rd Pick

Marco Belinelli and Morris Almond to me are almost the same players; it's Almond's defense that separates him from Belinelli. Brewer Gives us a much taller defensive presence when Monta Ellis is on the bench. Paul Millsap gives us the inside prescence that we desperately desire and the rebounding that has torn us up in the past years. With the 23rd pick I say, if any of the two collegiate champions (Mario Chalmers or Brandon Rush) are on the board, take em'. I'd go with Rush to back up Jax at the small forward spot. Then draft Ty Lawson (if we take Rush) or draft Bill Walker (if we take Chalmers). Then, possibly sign DeSegana Diop to beefen up our center position, and sign Stromile Swift to Add some depth at the 4 spot.

Warriors:

PG: Baron Davis, (Mario Chalmers), [Ty Lawson], CJ Watson

SG: Monta Ellis, Morris Almond, Kelenna Azubuike

SF: Stephen Jackson, Ronnie Brewer, [Brandon Rush], [Bill Walker]

PF: Brandan Wright, Paul Millsap, Stromile Swift

C: Andris Biedrins, Patrick O'Bryant, Kosta Perovic

Im clueless when it comes to salaries, so somebody please tell me if this works out.

if

you are clueless with salaries why dont you check them on the espn trade machine. and i dont think jazz pull this trade. you put these trades on but you dont explain why the jazz would do it. they already have korver so they dont need pietrius or marco, and harrington dont match utah style he cant play a lick of defense.

So I don't have a signature well these words would do! Who knew that upgrades can have downgrades too!

Sorry

There is a greater chance that the Denver Nuggets win the NBA Championship this year than Jerry Sloan, one of the most disciplined and authoritarian coaches in the NBA, deciding to trade for Mickael Pietrus.

Pietrus and Sloan go together like Derek Fisher and not flopping.

by belilaugh on May 11, 2008 5:27 PM PDT   0 recs

uhm.

Baron, Monta, and Jax flop as much as Derek.

Ginobli is the king of Flopping

by ejdacanay on May 11, 2008 6:11 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

...okay?

Did I say they didn’t? Did I mention any of those players actually? Weird.

by belilaugh on May 11, 2008 8:23 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

sorry

the jazz aren’t stupid, they know our weaknesses, and they aren’t going to trade us someone who would help solve those weaknesses

by AJC3317 on May 11, 2008 5:43 PM PDT   0 recs

Yeah I don't think so...

I’m not sure that would fly. Do those players even fit the current GSW philosophy?

by passionately objective on May 11, 2008 8:41 PM PDT   0 recs

asdf

Not gonna happen, Harrington makes more money then everyone we’d be getting. What’s the point of making ridiculous trade posts if they aren’t even remotely realisitic? I might as well say let’s trade POB, Kosta and a bag of peanuts to the Lakers for Kobe and Bynum. My trade probably has a more realistic chance of going through than yours.

Stephen Jackson catches on the wing and faces up against Vujacic. When Jax looks down and sees Vujacic, his eyes light up. He pulls out his nine, screams "Thug Life" and empties the clip, then drives in for a basically uncontested layup.

haha

IT DOES!!!

noo

dude ur trade is dumb like why would u like morris almond, ronnie brewer and millsap. i mean we can use or 14th pick or maybe higher for a very talented and good player. Marco is a sav and can shoot the lights out. Find a better trade than this one. And ya ur clueless about salaries man.

by pat52willis on May 11, 2008 11:28 PM PDT   0 recs

marco misconceptions

no he cant shoot the lights out. he’s streaky as hell and likes to jack them up from out there, but he’s not a good shooter at this point. but in response to the original post, marco is actually not a bad defender. In the Europe he was one of the best. (yea its the euro league where almost no one is a good defender but still) This trade would acutually make BOTH teams worse I think.

by sam23 on May 12, 2008 9:25 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

It's silly for anyone to judge anything about Marco except...

His sense of style when it comes to 3 piece suits. Let him see more PT before you start evaluating him as a basketball player. Both of you.

And “ya ur” clueless about English Mr. Willis.

by Dubs fan in Boston on May 12, 2008 10:47 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm

not judging off this season alone, more from his time in Italy. He wasnt a good shooter there, but he was a pretty solid defender. I think he got labeled as a shooter and an unathletic poor defender simply because he’s European. He’s just not the player most dubs fans seem to think he is, I’m not saying he will or will not be a valuable contributor, I agree that we need to withhold judgement there until we see more PT, just that he is a different player than a lot of people think he is. He’s shown good range there, but not consistency from outside….. so at this point if you say he can shoot the lights out, then you’d have to say the same for Baron.

by sam23 on May 12, 2008 11:44 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Well...

One of the knocks on him from the coaches and players is his defense and lack of athleticism. I remember somebody talking about how Belinelli had to work really hard in the weight room on improving his leg strength to improve defensively. In any case, I’m going to do my thing where I withhold any sort of judgement until he plays a lot more. And from what I hear, comparing Euro ball to NBA ball is completely different.

by Dubs fan in Boston on May 12, 2008 12:20 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

yea

I agree when it comes to d and athleticsim especially….but shooting is shooting and he wasnt a good shooter there so why does everyone assume he will be here? I really thinks its simply because he’s European and has shown he CAN make shots from well beyond 3 pt range.

by sam23 on May 12, 2008 12:26 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

He was billed as a sharpshooter...

Besides, did you ever see his highlight reel, “Marco Belinelli – The Italian Sharpshooter”? He makes every sigle shot. He’s AMAZING!!! Clearly a top notch shooter.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNxZ4_O8R8M

Statistics? What are you talking about? You must be from Mars, or at least Slovenia. Euroleague shooting percentages? That’s crazy talk.

by Dubs fan in Boston on May 12, 2008 12:57 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Well I'm

from sLOVEenia and i can tell you one thing: crazy are those who still think the only good b-ball is played in the NBA.

by buky on May 12, 2008 3:54 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

the BEST

bball is still played stateside.

by sam23 on May 12, 2008 4:03 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I agree

but just remember the gap between NBA and the rest from 1992 olympics in Barcelona. The Lithuanians took pictures of themselves with Dream Team before the game started. 10 years later they beat the “dream team”.

by buky on May 13, 2008 1:54 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

well

also remember Magic, Mike and Larry took the Olympics much more seriously than our gang has in recent years, and we havent put our best out there like we did that year. I’m not making excuses, I’m just saying if we throw a MOTIVATED Paul, Kobe, Lebron, KG, and Howard out there next olympics I think you will see a return to domination that wont neccessarily represent a widening of the gap in talent level, but rather the U.S. throwing out their best and most motivated to match up with the best and most motivated of other countries.

Before you call people "dumb"

you should learn how to spell…..

By the way

that was intended for pat52willis…..

This trade is just as, if not more...

Unrealistic than the first.

Warriors, Stupidest franchise in the league.

by kenntoe on May 12, 2008 12:52 AM PDT   0 recs

hey

i just noticed you only have like 2 3 post and they are all trades that make no sense. stop wasting time and space unless you really got an idea

So I don't have a signature well these words would do! Who knew that upgrades can have downgrades too!

by 24k state fan since 87 on May 12, 2008 1:07 AM PDT   0 recs

Ok,

no one is expecting you to be a salary cap expert or anything but do like 5 mins of research before posting.

1. without using specific numbers things we should all pretty much know, Al makes about 8 million, and pietrus made 3+ million last year and probaly will ask and get a small raise, and Marco(as most first rounders) makes almost 3 million
millsap(first of all has a team option so theyre wouldnt have to be a sign and trade)makes less than a million, since he was a unheralded second rounder and almond and brewer probaly both make around 2 million or less as late first rounders( this is just stuff that serious nba and warriors fans know)
and a trade has to be within 125% of salaries if the teams are over the cap, so the trade wouldnt work because of that

2. the nba draft happens in late june while free agents cant get signed till mid july, so it is impossible to do a sign and trade during the draft

3. pietrus has to agree to any sign and trade and since he wont get more than the mle, probaly will not sign with a playoff team that could use a role player and give him a big portion of thier mle(ie toronto, phoenix, sa etc) why would he sign with hardass jerry sloan who probaly doesnt want a undisclipened and low basketball iq player

4. the biggest question is why would either team want to do that deal

Alot of people say bad things about Stephen Jackson, but don't give him credit for being a good basketball player.

by norcalsoldier on May 12, 2008 3:00 PM PDT   0 recs

marco makes 3 mil per?

really? he’s got a sweet gig then.

by sam23 on May 12, 2008 4:04 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

$3M?

Based on this, I don’t see him making $3M until 2011-2012.

by passionately objective on May 12, 2008 5:09 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

your right

thats why in the post i said

not being a cap expert, or using exact numbers i said that first rounders make almost 3 million, which is give or take about right

Alot of people say bad things about Stephen Jackson, but don't give him credit for being a good basketball player.

by norcalsoldier on May 12, 2008 7:58 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Sure,

no problem, I was just trying to be helpful.

by passionately objective on May 12, 2008 8:33 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Why do you wanna trade with the JAZZ

the only player we could use is MIllsap but how annoying are the JAzz dont ruin the run n gun warriors with the bitch JAzz players on the team

by warriorsalltheway on May 12, 2008 9:28 PM PDT   0 recs

AK47

would also be a great fit in the run and gun. Not for the price maybe, but still a good fit.

by sam23 on May 13, 2008 5:30 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

POB

I was looking at the proposed roster..why do we keep POB? paying him another 2 mil? Definently not..
