Should Dubs go into Celtics mode?
After seeing the success that the Celtics had with basically trading everything on the farm for proven vet's, I think a lot of teams around the league will consider what they have right now and maybe what they can use in upside/youth to get proven vet's for that short window of oppurtunity most teams never see. Salary wise this obviously isn't going to work because it hinges on what AB/Monta will be signed for, but assuming they're going to both make atleast 10 mil starting out the trade could be done, this is more of an idea that I'm just floating out there since it's rumored that the Heat possibly thought about trading DWade this offseason and now it's rumored they might be willing to deal the #2 pick since Beasley is basically Marion. Normally I would be completely against trading any of our young guys but this could give us a shot in the West. There are 2 separate trades to make it work salary wise...
Trade 1
Warriors trade
Andris Biedrins/10-12 mil
Monta Ellis/10-13 mil
Brandan Wright/2.5 mil
#14
Heat trade
DWade/13 mil
Shawn Marion/16.5 mil
2nd round pick
Trade 2
Wattriors trade
10 mil trade exception
Heat trade
Marcus Banks/4 mil
Warriors roster
Baron Davis/Marcus Banks
Dwayne Wade/Marco Belinelli
Stephen Jackson/Kelenna Azubuike
Shawn Marion/Al Harrington
Al Harrington/Kosta Perovic
Obviously that isn't enough players to fill out our bench but with that rotation right there we would get vet's flocking to the Warriors who want a chance at a title. Obviously we would need some big man help, which is why I would like to see if Blount could be thrown in that deal but he has 3 years left starting at about 8 mil a year but he would more than get the job done. Seeing our 3 youngsters being traded away stings but the thought of us trotting out that line up makes me salivate at the possibilities. Another downside to this trade is the durability of BD/DWade and the fact that BD and Marion are going to be FA's next year, if something like this were to go down I'd hope to sign them for 3/4 more years. I know this isn't likely to happen but can you imagine how scary that team could be if it were to be assembled. This also helps the Heat immensely because they are getting 3 players who can step in and start as well as being able to use their #2 pick on Beasely who is basically Shawn Marion but at about 1/4 of the cost.

Beasley is not Marion
Beasley can post up, Marion can’t.
Marion can only shoot spot-up jumpers, Beasley can create his own jumpers.

alright....
we keep BD, Monta and Beans, but we Al and action Jackson, Brandon Wright , Baby Rocky, the 10 million trades exception to get Elton Brand and Ron Artest to the bay. Now that is our veriosn of the Celtics, but with more D and more rebounding.
PG BG
SG Monta
SF Ron Artest
PF Elton Brand
C Beans
Now that spell a top title contender.

At least the 3rd time you've posted this
I love the resulting roster, but what’s in it for LAC or SAC? You might be able to get Artest for a package featuring Wright, but I’m not even sure that’s much of an upgrade. Wright will probably be better than Artest in two years. And that leaves Marco to fetch us Brand. LOL.
Personally, I’m still masterminding a trade involving Baron, Jack, Harrington, Wright, AB, Baby Rocky, POB, Kosta, CJ Watson and Nellie’s toejam for LeBron, Amare, Dwight Howard and CP3.
CP3
Monta
LeBron
Amare
Howard
My team beats yours, at every position except SG. ;-)
Sign ^^^^ !!!

If you don't think...
Marco alone can fetch us Brand, then you’re supremely underestimating Belly’s trade value Sleepy. Marco and #14 for D-12. We must pull that move now! I must admit, I’ve had dreams of that second lineup also. I’ll go make it happen on 2K8.
On a real note, you really think it’ll take Batman to entice Sacramento to send Artest our way? It would’ve been grand if we could’ve put something together with our trade exception and draft pick(s) / Belinelli last year for him, but now it’s too late. =/

ehhh
i dont think Brandon Wright is going to be better than Ron Artest at all. I see him as a poorman Tayshaun Prince only. And his offenese game might only be average also. The only reason why you all said he is our future PF is his long wingspan, which isn’t saying much. I got a feeling he only be a 12 and 8 player at best. He is too skinny to puck anybody around. Ron could plays D and gurb rebounds as he please. With the right coaching system, he might put up 23, 6-7 per a night. And I’m not counting his defenese numbers either. So we mind as well play the free agent market and try to land a star forward or two.

I
Wanted to do one of these. i really think the warriors should go on Celtic mode! They had a talk about how the Celts did it on Mike and Mike in the Morning and I really think what the hell why not do it! all you need is 3 superstars, not 2 but 3! if there is a way to do it do it! and anybody saying future this future that, um we only made the playoffs 1 time in 13 years! you can’t wait forever because by the time is done fixing them they are gone! There are some parts in the team that should stay but come on a lot needs to get fixed. Celts proved defense wins and Lakers proved offense does not.
So I don't have a signature well these words would do! Who knew that upgrades can have downgrades too!

Wow
Celts proved defense wins and Lakers proved offense does not.
I guess that means the Dubs in for a world of hurt. The only defense we have is MP2 Frenchy under arm stank. Other than that the Dubs don’t give a lick about D.
I like the idea of farming out the entire squad for a championship, but that won’t happen because a lot of other teams may try and replicate the same thing. That might be good for the Dubs though. Go for it NBA. Rearrange your entire squad, break up all chemistry and flop on your faces when guys like Joe Smith and Larry Hughes don’t do anything for ya. I guess BD, SJAX, Monta, Wright and Andris and co. are fine with me-I guess…

Celts proved defense wins and Lakers proved offense does not.
Hard to make general “proof” conclusions from a single instance. If the series went the other way, it wouldn’t have “proven” something about how all matchups will go. The Celtics showed that they were all around a better team. They played very good defense. They also Their regular season record suggested this. Yes, even playing in the East it suggested this, as the Celts were just as strong against the West in the regular season as they were against the East. Stronger in fact.

Easy, Mullin just needs
a fire sale occurring at another franchise where he can pilfer an All Star and a former teammate to become GM at a third NBA city, screw up that roster and then send their perennial All NBA post player to him for a solid starter and a bag of candy corn …

With the 14th pick
in this years nba draft the golden state warriors select a bag of candy corn!

I'd only advocate...
picking up Candy Corn this year if we were to trade down..say to Toronto or Cleveland.

No way.
Candy Corn’s for real. We might have to trade up.

c-corn
worked out pretty poorly in oakland last week, due to that and high sugar content, c-corn’s stock is plummeting.
the stop calling him "beans" movement

I agree...
I hear Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup’s stock is rising. Word is he’s been invited to the green room.

mmmm. candy corn....
always a halloween favorite.
Seriously though – what big out there have we no thought of? Someone languishing on the pine. Someone who can rebound, has soft hands and can bang down low. Someone who may have been described as a poor man’s Elton Brand. Someone like – IKE DIOGU?
As for the celtics approach – even if you pull it off the success they saw was an anomoly. Look at the Lakers with Payton, Kobe, Shaq and Malone. I think you only do this when your best player is reaching his last days – Paul Pierce (Baron too?) and you don’t have any young guys who are future stars like we have in Monta and maybe Wright or Bedrins.
Warrior fan for life - where we are "always just a big man away" from total domination

That's not a fair comparison.
Shaq and Kobe were fighting. Payton and Malone were only there for the ring and weren’t themselves. So you’ve got two legit stars who’d already reached the top of the mountain and were fighting for “top dog” status. Then you’ve got two guys on their last legs.
The Celtics have 3 guys in their late primes. All good guys, all of whom had never sniffed a championship before and were hungry to validate their careers. They seem to actually like each other. Everybody was sacrificing for the good of the team instead of trying to be the Alpha Dog. Totally different story. Still hard to do though. It’s the equivalent of a 100 year storm. Great players/guys in unfortunate situations in need of a trade along with one team having the assets to pull it off. What would have happened had Boston won the 2nd draft pick? Would PP be there? Would Garnett be in the Bay? Would PP be in the Bay??!

The Laker comparison isn’t fair, but rejecting it still doesn’t make a total retool like the Celts did seem any more likely. The Celts got their new guns without giving up their most valuable player. The Celts had a great situation in being able to add one of the 2 or 3 most valuable players in the game in Garnett. We could retool, but there isn’t a guy with that sort of individual productivity available at this point. There are only a few guys who can improve a team as much as Garnett did on his own. Howard isn’t available. Paul isn’t available. Duncan isn’t available. Lebron isn’t available.

we should get some of em guys on the pistons
since they’re overhauling the roster and they are always top 3 in the league in defense y not get some of the players their gonna kick. artest and brand? idk if it can work cuz both are in the same division as the warriors. nd theres not to many other big men in the league available for the warriors
