goddamnit

Why the hell do we need another stick on our team? He’s like 15 pounds LIGHTER than Brandon and he’s TALLER. Fuck me.

Again

I wouldn’t view him as a 4. More of a hybrid forward with a slight lean towards the 3. Think Tayshaun Prince or Lamar Odom. Definitely needs to add muscle mass though.

a 3 needs semblance of ball handling skills

he can’t play the 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 in the NBA. He can play the 6.

by dhp318 on Jun 26, 2008 6:30 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

is this a joke?

you obviously havn’t seen him play. He handles like a pointguard at 6’10

let's not get carried away

he has good handles for his size. not PG handles.

I pray i never have to use a gun again...

...unless i'm at a strip club parking lot...

...and somebody tries to run me over with their car...

...But how often does that happen??

word

He is literally the skinniet basketball player I have seen in my life, and I have seen Shawn Bradley and Manute Bol. He is two -minimum -years worth of conditioning away from having anything you would call an NBA body. This guy could hang out with Victor Conte all summer and it wouldn’t do shit for him.

Is our frontline of the future really going to be
Center-AB: 6-11, 230
PF- BWright: 6-9, 205
SF-Randolph: 6-11, 1fucking97

Then we would have Monta: 6-3, 177 at the 2

That is utterly insane, we would be the skinniest, lightest team ever.

OK, so can we all come over and pimpslap you if this kid’s a bust?

i smell

trade bait?!?

by onedub on Jun 26, 2008 6:05 PM PDT   0 recs

AAAAAAHHHHH

Why? Does this mean a trade is in the works for Wright or Biedrins or our pick today? It makes no sense! If this is a rerun of POB I’m done being a season ticket holder. The kid isn’t even 200 pounds!

he is absolutely nothing like pob

I don't mind the pick.

I’m not ecstatic about it either though.

Here’s hoping we buy a pick late in the first round.

I’m targeting Utah, San Antonio or Detroit as possible sellers.

Good teams don't sell draft picks

Only the ones with scrooge owners like the Suns.

by Dubs fan in Boston on Jun 27, 2008 8:45 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

wow

if u don’t look at the name that could easily be brandan wright’s profile

by AJC3317 on Jun 26, 2008 6:06 PM PDT   0 recs

We got height for our frontcourt and athleticism. If AR puts on 20 lbs and Brandan 10. i think we will have a top 5 front court w/o a doubt.

by ejdacanay on Jun 26, 2008 6:11 PM PDT   0 recs

at the 14th pick thats fine...

He has a lot of potential, some scouts say he has the highest potential behind Beasley and Rose. At the 14th spot, thats pretty good. Also, I think he’s going to be our version of AK47 at the SF position. I do have problems with him playing the 4 slot, mostly because we already have Wright there. We’re going to need to watch the rest of the draft to see if anything else happens.

by q00pster on Jun 26, 2008 6:11 PM PDT   0 recs

ughhhhh

Why did we draft a lesser Brandan Wright??

From John Hollinger rated him as the WORST BIG MAN projected to go in the 1st round of this draft, with the greatest bust potential, with a projected PER of under 10:

Between Me and the Scouts, One of Us Will Look Like an Idiot
Anthony Randolph, LSU, 9.85

Yes, this is true. Seen in many quarters as a high lottery pick, Randolph has virtually nothing in his statistical record to justify such a lofty selection.

In particular, his woeful ball-handling numbers are a major red flag. Randolph had more turnovers than any prospect except Beasley and Thompson, but those two players had every play run through them; I’m still waiting to find out Randolph’s excuse.

Additionally, his 49.9 true shooting percentage is alarmingly bad for a guy who is supposed to dominate athletically.

He can block shots, and the fact his team was such a mess probably didn’t help his numbers any, but gambling on Randolph with a high first-round pick looks like the basketball equivalent of hitting on 19 in blackjack. Hey, maybe the dealer throws out a 2 and everyone thinks you’re a genius, but chances are you’re going to bust.

It appears he’s going to be drafted in the middle of the first round at worst, but even that appears to be a terrible mistake—there is no track record whatsoever of a player rated this poorly achieving pro success.

sounds like a winner

Feeling better Now

Thanks for this post. I was feeling kinda down about our pick until I read it. If “Between Hollinger and the Scouts, One of them Will Look Like an Idiot” this kid will be ready to play tomorrow! Cuz that ship has sailed a while ago. For real though, lets look on the bright side, either he is going to get traded, or it mean Bedrins and his Recreation Center defensive skills is OUTTA HERE! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

COME ON

We Need A True Presence In The Middle… Speights Would Of Been Great.. Great Presence And He Would Have Been Ridiculous In The Inside… Randolph Is A Skinny Kid.. We Would Have Been Better Going With Donte’ Green Or Koufos…

by YayArea510 on Jun 26, 2008 6:19 PM PDT   0 recs

you don't need

to capitalize every word dude.

now that that’s done:

koufos is a stiff
greene can’t shoot
speights can’t run

Nellie loves him....

“Star.”

That was the one-word answer given by Golden State coach Don Nelson when asked about the future of Anthony Randolph, the slender power forward who a year ago was a 17-year-old wearing the cap-and-gown at Woodrow Wilson High School.

wellll

idk we cant package a player and the trade exception from JRich in the same trade (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nba_salary_cap) so i think the dub’s first priority should be to unload that before it expires today.

Not lovin' skinny tall guys

by RC650 on Jun 26, 2008 6:38 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

That is an inaccurate interpretation of the rule. The trade exception isn’t a “thing” that gets traded. It’s not something that can be “unloaded.” It’s space we have (for about 3 more days) that can be used to acquire a player in trade making up to or less than the size of the exemption. It doesn’t change hands in a trade though. We CAN send out a player and use the TPE to fit the guy in under the cap. We just can’t add it to a player to get a player who makes more than the TPE or the player being shipped out.

Throw about 60 pounds between Biedrins, Wright and Randolph and maybe I’ll entertain the notion of this frount court.

Looks like solid dunk competition material

Everybody’s got good handles going 1-1 in an open court against players that are slower and don’t play the same position (We’re talking about somebody listed as a SF going against players listed as Cs). And he did look like he didn’t have complete control of the ball sometimes.

Anyways, Mulson likes him. It’s not bad to duplicate talents if they can actually contribute. We’ve been asking for duplicate PG talents for a while… Still need to find them though. Randolph will have to learn. A big “wait and see” project if you ask me. Does that make Baron happy?

by Dubs fan in Boston on Jun 27, 2008 8:57 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

He didn’t have complete control of the ball? You can’t do those moves without having handles. Besides judging from the video and how Nellie is he’ll be matched up against 4’s and 5’s when he gets playing time.

Also, is Baron like the new Kobe now we have to please him to play well. He’s a smart and mature enough guy to not to stoop that low. Who says we won’t find a back-up point? The off-season just started last week and will continue until for another 5 months. If you look at all the teams now with PG controversies we may be able to bide our time and grab a good one.

by joestar on Jun 28, 2008 2:01 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

get this kid in the weight room before the season begin

than u have a great sf in the making. Let him plays 20-28 min per a game to get his feet wet. He got offenese games is his strength. Being in Pippen to help him develop him. Than it all good than.

by warriorfan4life on Jun 27, 2008 2:36 PM PDT   0 recs

This guy has his whole NBA career to get stronger. Bulking up is a long process, I’m a personal trainer so I know that it takes more than a couple of months to gain 20+ lbs of muscle mass.

by joestar on Jun 28, 2008 2:04 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

i just have a good feeling

about this kid
