potential summer signee
How about former Duke guard and Vallejo native Demarcus Nelson? He’s a pretty physical player and I really thought he’d go somewhere in the 2nd round after posting solid combine numbers.

The pre-draft workout -
At our digs had MANY advantages. Some of the guys who weren’t picked…may find their way back into our summer league.

Being invited to the Warriors summer league as a non-roster player has been the kiss of death for players. In the last two years, none of the players playing in Vegas made the squad. No, Barnes wasn’t on the summer league team. Neither was Anthony Roberson. Both came to camp without having played on the summer league team.

Slap in the face -
for our poor choice of summer league players over the years. There is an attempt to shed that kiss of death.

what happened to Roberson?
we just might be able to clear a roster spot for a guy like him this year.

they gave him a shot
but I think he wasn’t good enough of a defender or ball handler so they let him go.
From what I remember, he didn’t shoot all that well in his limited opportunity either.

Roberson wasn’t much of a distributor. He could score and handled the ball well enough, but he was otherwise limited in his court vision. I don’t recall much about his defense (hard to judge based on how little he actually played), but I don’t think that had anything to do with his release. He was hurt for much of the time he was on roster and unable to play. Injuries to other players meant that they had to release someone to make room for another guard before his contract became guaranteed.
That guard signed after Roberson was released was Azubuike. No one else picked up Roberson.

what about the kid
who was drafted out of high school by the Cavs and then had some colon issue before we picked him up. He was another undersized scoring guard, I’m just curious what happened to him.

2 of 4
Sunday July 13th
COX Pavilion
3 PM – Dallas vs. Golden State
Friday July 18th
COX Pavilion
7 PM – Sacramento vs. Golden State
These two games will be on NBAtv. All games will be webcast on nba.com, but will there be free? If I remember right it was free last year.
