Movement to Bring Back Kelenna!

Of all the talk about bringing back Monta and Biedrins, I think that we should try as hard as possible to bring back Kelenna also. For a player who plays the 2 or 3... he is strong enough to hang with bigger bodies. His strength is a definite asset on a team that needs some bruisers both small and big. He can rebound, defend, and shoot the 3. Lost some confidence during last season but thats just getting used to Nellieball. The more I see Buike play, the more I like the way he plays. Hardworker, defender, rebounder, has a solid jump shot along with a growing post game. Reminds me of a Ronnie Brewer type player except he can shoot the 3 as well as defend more athletic guards. Give Buike another contract. He might be the X-factor off the bench next year. I expect him to be a solid pro for years to come.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Pietrus back but only if he's 100% there for the team. No more mind games with the front office. He brings so much to the table both offensively and defensively, scoring and grabbing rebounds, fouling and getting just stupid fouls. But all that considered I feel he is a very versatile player who plays the the up-tempo system very well. I feel as though you can understand a lot about a player from watching them in the playoffs. If they can play well and defend in the playoffs then they are worth it. And from what i saw in Pietrus he played very well in the playoffs and especially during the home stretch to get to the playoffs.

I'd rather take players like KA and MP than take a chance on other players. With these two we at least know what they can and can't do and how they can contribute. The good knews is that they can will still improve and continue to become better players. Are they the keys to use winning a championship...who knows... probably not. But are they what we need right now... i think yes!

BUIKE!

YES. BRING BACK SPECIAL K

According to the comminsioner of the nfl, 104 people retired last year. 7 due to age, and the rest because of Patrick Willis

Screw Pietrus. Azubuike yes, but Pietrus never.

I agree

I’m a big fan or Kelenna Azubuike and I really believe that he has a lot of potential. In the past I’ve heard that he doesn’t have that high of a ceiling, he’s inconsistent, etc..etc.., BUT he’s still learning and he’s shown a lot of growth from his college years at UK. In the past I’ve seen a lot of dunking and above the rim plays, but I feel he’s really developing other parts of his game such as the mid range jumper and his ability to guard players bigger than him. Give him starter minutes and his stats will jump. He has a solid stat line. One weakness I hope Kelenna Azubuike can improve on are his assists. Other than that, SOLID PLAYER. Azubuike can play, and he has basket ball smarts which is really important. Most of all, I feel he has something to prove to himself which is always good for competition. :) He could definitely have a break out year and be that x-factor like you said.

Moreover, although he was undrafted, I feel that he is a much better player than some of the drafted players such as Jordan Farmar, or Jarrett Jack. (NO DISRESPECT to them because I know they are good NBA players. I am merely comparing their play and statistics with Kelenna’s AND yes, I know that the positions they play are different.)

I’ve been wondering whether or not the Warriors would re-sign him, but I haven’t read or heard anything about a reached agreement. He definitely deserves a bigger contract and I hope the Warriors are NOT willing to part ways with him.

BRING HIM BACK

After the defense i saw him play on kobe. hes gotta come back

by X0HennessyX0 on Jun 29, 2008 10:28 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Good...

that’s exactly what i saw. i guess we can be the first to say “we have a kobe-stopper.” Forget what Boston had… they had a KoGasOdom-Stopper…. We need to find one of those!

Doesn’t he just have a player option? I’m pretty sure he’ll be sticking around. He only flaunted his W’s jersey when he was at that conference in Africa.

by joestar on Jun 29, 2008 10:35 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Definitely!

Bring back Kelenna, He’s got JRich heart and toughness He’s earned a spot on the team and a decent contract
Also stop playin mind games with Mikael and design a game plan to maximize his skills. We need his defense and could use his offense if it was utilized properly.

Re: Pietrus...are you kidding?

He was horrible in the playoffs. Shot 35% FG, and 25% 3pt. AND he missed those 2 clutch free throws that would have won Game 3 (which we lost in OT). So what i’m saying is, Pietrus is garbage, he is a liability on the court, he chokes in the clutch, and we should let him walk.

As for Azubuike, he’s an average player who is easily replaced. Keep him if the money is right, but the MLE is too much.

Keep Barnes though, he has heart, and does all the little things to help win games.

Yes Pietrus!

if the price is right anyway! But why was he on the court when he missed those free throws…
He can play D

by GSWarriors4life on Jun 29, 2008 11:44 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

but he also

misses wide open 3’s, layups and commits silly hard fouls instead of playing smart defense.

He was solid

off the bench. And he shut down Kobe in their series vs. the Lakers. Good rebounding, and has the Guns of Naverone. Strong at the 2 or 3. Proven and in Nelly’d favor unlike Belinelli. He’ll be back unless he gets a great offer from another team, which is not unlikely.

I wonder if BW got his braces off yet. I think Nelly said that was the main reason he was riding the bench, because he was an NBA player with braces.

Keep Monta Movement.

i m sure

he will be back -if only W’s will not find someone better 4 same price (what i really doubt)

I advocate

the resigning of Glenn Azubuike for $3m or less.

sign him

Buk is a very good young player at a good price. If he came out after 3 years of
college he would be a lottery pick. He’s got a solid game with a good attitude and ….did i mention he likes to play defense and rebound? This is a must resign. I ‘d rather have him than Barnes back if I had a choice.

I’d say this is an overstatement, but agree that Kelenna should be brought back.

Bring back Kabuki

Agreed about Kelenna, the Warriors should bring him back, but I’d have to say no on Pietrus. Kelenna has the right price tag, even with opting out, but Pietrus will come at too high a price, I would think. He definitely gives great energy when he is on, but is way too inconsistent to merit resigning.

Co-sign

I think that re-signing Monta and Beans are obviously priority #1 but bringing Buike back to this team whose bench is miserably thin (almost non-existent) as I type this is almost a no-brainer. He is efficient offensively, rebounds extremely well for his position (very important on this team) and has shown that when motivated and healthy he can play some very good D (see games vs Kobe).

However despite the nice showings against KB24 I do have to be fair and say that on a night in and night out basis his D is still too weak. He let’s his man blow by him on the perimeter way too often. Some of this may be due to his knee injury last season but I worry that it might just be a lack of lateral quickness. He handles himself well defending the post and is a pretty good weak side shot blocker (for a guard) but if he is iso’d up against a guard with any kind of quickness you can pretty much book it.

With all things considered, including his age and the fact that he has shown the ability to work hard and improve his game, if we can get this guy for around 3 mil per DO IT!!

Buike

Look, Air France may be explosive, but he is a streaky shooter, a belw average FT shooter, and only plays D when he can block a shot. Some teams love his athletic ability and want tp play him 4-6 mil. why would we pay a guy who doesn’t always show up and complains during hard times the money that we pay stackjax. Buike has the heart of j-rich, plays tough D everynight, and shoots over 55% from the 3 point wings. Barnes we could take for under 2 mil. I love his attitude and deserves a second chance.

I would think that bringing him back would be a must...

Considering that he was one of the main contributors off the bench on a nightly basis not to mention he can play the 2 or 3 can shoot the 3 ball, take it to the hole, block shots, and he plays hard. He might be one of our hardest working players. He also rebounds pretty well for a guard I think right aroun 8 rebounds per 40 minutes. I’m guessing they might be able to resign him for something around 3million and hopefully they don’t overpay for Ellis and Biendrins as this will be the major factor contributing to him not coming back. He’s a pretty humble guy and I’m hoping that he might be willing to take a bit under the 3million to come back and play for the team that gave him his first shot in the league.

It's all about the killer cross-over baby!

Buike>MP2

MP2 should be gone with the wind. Someone dumb enough will sign him for what he thinks he should get. Me, I think 2.5 mil a year is about what he deserves-maybe 3 mil. Just get him outta here. He really does miss easy layups, freethrows and can’t hit a 3 anywhere except on the baseline. We can do better.

On the otherhand. KEEP THE WIZARD OF AZ!!! He is one of the most underrated players in the entire NBA and he helps us out more than Peitrus. Buike is the poster child for heart, desire and determination. He may not be the most skilled player on the Dubs, but he can board with anyone on the team. There are many other reaason why I think we should keep him, but one of them is this:
