Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

FJ and I were admiring the gigantic championship trophy image at the Celts' center court while we were watching Game 1 tonight. I was thinking it would be pretty cool if the winner of the NBA Finals got to adorn their home court the following season with this huge Larry O'Brien. Makes the title of "defending champs" even more visual and unforgettable.

The Warriors could get a piece of the action too. Anyone up for huge lottery balls at mid-court? It could be Roaracle fixture just like the garlic fries!

That trophy is hideous

That’s such a classic court too. Wasn’t it enough to sew it on the jerseys?

Whatever, go Celtics.

Storage is for business, or for family.

It's hideously obvious

You have to admit it’d be pretty cool to have that on your home floor every year.

Err...

The year following your championship.

It would look rediculous in my living room

Although it may spice up the kitchen a bit . . .

Personally

I was a bit annoyed by it when there were two times the backcourt line was tested. The first time was when the Lakers was called for a backcourt, but replays showed the player hadn’t fully stepped into the front court yet. The second time was when Garnet made a save to prevent a backcourt, leading to a Celtics bucket. Maybe the backcourt line is visible enough to the refs on the court, but on TV, I couldn’t tell where the line was.
