The Official Don't Leave Us Baron Movement

I've been a Warriors fan since I can remember. When I was young, I was witness to the Run TMC era. It solidified my place as a warriors fan. I even attended Don Nelson basketball camp when I was in 7th grade at Del Mar High School. I have seen some of the most atrocious things that a young fan can see in his life time. From trading Chris Webber, the ROY, for basically Gougliotta & Siekly, to the loss of agent zero. I love spree-4- three, the energizer bunny, Manute Bol & Sarunas (not the cheerleader) I''ve been there for the Warriors in the good years and mostly for the bad years. I'm sick and tired of seeing other teams win. We finally have a team that is one or two pieces away from being a contender and they let their top player opt out?

I felt like we would never win. Two and half seasons ago, things changed. My buddy told me that Baron Davis got traded to the Dubs. I was happy, but not sure what to expect. What I got was an ESPN higlight making machine. Baron and J-Rich seemed like the pertfect combo. Alley-oop after allley-oop, my love for the team continued to grow. I hadn't seen anything like it in my adult life. I thought, look out next year NBA, here we come.

The 06/07 season was the best year in my life, as a sports fan of course. The Dubs seemed to be lotto bound until Mully pulled of an excellent trade. When JAX and Harrington came to the Dubs, I knew we were in for something special. As you all know we pulled off the greatest upset in playoff history. I will tell my grandkids about the 06/07 Warriors. Baron pulled through and made us love him. The round 1 victory sent 13 years of losing, nearly half my life, into a frenzy. Once again... I believed. Even though we lost to Utah, where there is no jazz, I saw hope. We had a star. One that shined bright. One that seemed to do the impossible. We had the bearded one...... Baron Davis.

I almost cried.....f@$k that, I did cry when J-Rich was traded on draft night for B-Wright. After a season of so much hope, our heart & soul was ripped from us. I wondered how could we possibly win? How were we gonna make the playoffs? We just lost 20+ points a game. We lost the first 6 games. Then we fought back. Baron was they key to most of our victories(sorry stack jack, but you are definately Scotty Pippen, but we couldn't have done it without you) 48 wins later we didn't make the playoffs, a NBA record (2 years in a row). Most Dubs fans believe we're 1 or 2 pieces away from being a contender, so why would you leave?

As a fan the worst thing I can hear is that you left for the money. Please say it ain't so. I would be crushed. Especially after you have told the Bay Area fans how much love you have for them. I'm sure you know how much love the fans have for you. You brought winning back to the Yay... and more important... winning with style. You gave us a star to love. Someone to follow. You gave us a Superstar, something we're not used to. You have a chip on your shoulder and so do we. I beg you to stay and use that chip.... and bring us a title.

Please.... don't leave us Baron.

So

I hear the draft class for next year is strong,

If Baron leaves those scouts should start looking to see who we should draft with the nu,ber 1 pick next year.

sure let's tank

the season and get the #4 pick in the draft since worst records don’t mean # 1 pick anymore.

The 09 draft class projects much weaker compared to this years.

We won't need to tank

If we do a sign and trade and get the following, we will be ok…
Baron and maybe MP or MB for
a solid vet pg likeTinsley or Heinrich who likes to PASS first, a decent big man and then their draft picks for next year.
Then we just need them to do poorly after Baron coasts on his new found long term deal and we can get their draft pick – a pg who we can develop

Warrior fan for life - where we are "always just a big man away" from total domination

If he’s not commited to staying and wants to kill us with $$$. Why would you want him to stay?
