Clippers now a contender?

If they resign Brand they will be an impressive squad -

Kaman, Brand, Thorton - imposing frontcourt

Cat, Baron - imposing backcourt - though cat may be done.

Not too sure about the bench but this looks like a squad that could make some noise - for about two years.  After that the wheels come off and they are saddled by contracts they can't shed.

The situation with warriors seem like all sides are making the best choices for their side.  But why does this happen to teams like the warriors and not the Spurs, Detroit, and other contenders? - why do they stay together through thick and thin and why don't they have guys looking to go to teams for long term contracts and big pay days?

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Even though I don’t hold his decision against him like the majority of this site seems to, I still don’t think the Clippers will be anything better than 7th seed fodder to the Lakers or Hornets.

They are a paper tiger unless proven otherwise

They have very thin bench, Thornton is in his second season, and Cutino is like 300 years old now. I think Gordan will be playing a lot of minutes though.

Baron and Brand are the only elite talents on the team. I think they are better than the Thuggets and Dallas, but not a title contender.

A Time For Heroes,
It's not right for young lungs to be coughing up blood
And it's all
It's all in my hands
And its all up the walls
Well the stale chips were up and the hopes stakes were down
Until Kp came into Town!

The Clippers Are Definiteley Title Contenders

The Clippers are going to be a better version of the Warriors. They are going to be the team that Nelly/Mully have been trying to create. A big bruising 4 and rebounding were holes that the dubs were trying to fill to make them title contenders. We were a star power forward away. The clips have that star power forward and definitely don’t have a prob rebounding.

We were an Elton Brand away from being a legit Title Threat!

The worst part is how badly this was all handled by the media and Warriors front office.

I do hope that the man that made Bay Area ball relevant again doesn’t get booed, oh Lord do I pray.

MeH

One of the most injury prone rosters in the league. It’s the clippers too…something will undoubtedly go wrong.
