MULLIN THE MORON

Bye Baron. There is a place for your type. Visit soon.

Hey Chris, have you heard that you lost the best player on your team AND you were the last to know ? What did you think when you read the wires  about Baron and the Clips ? Did you scratch that knobby, irregular head and say, well, what can one say ? But in your job, you are judged by your ability to forsee such events. In Japan, you would fall on your sword. If only... But we will accept a more western approach. Let us know what you decide and if you want an audience.

Formely Yours,

Mohawk

As pissed as you are this is going to work out.

If you have been a Warrior fan for a while and not just on for the ride you know that this is common practice. To lock up Baron and have his frail body shut down mid season would anger me more than anything. Now we might be able to go after Brandon Jennings or the next great PG. We will get through this. It sucks very much and I wish Baron would not have been so secretive to the point that we may have been able to use the exception, but it;s a business.

Now there will be another Warrior jersey rocked by people that don’t know in the streets, I still see first run Webbers and Joe Smith jerseys.

Karma to Baron ala ACL.

by bucknall20 on Jul 1, 2008 7:43 PM PDT   0 recs

why do i keep hearing people..

say that Baron screwed us because we couldn’t use the trade exception before it expired?

We are so far under the cap right now that we don’t even need the TE. We are like the bobcats back when they dealt Brandan Wright to us for JRich. We can eat millions of dollars and the trades don’t have to be equal, hence no need for the TE

Baron is not worth it long term. Mullin did a smart move.

I'm over it but,...

I won’t be upset if we hear Boooo’s on his return to Oracle.

by AJC3317 on Jul 1, 2008 10:02 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

gotta agree with the hawk...

injuries are a part of the game, always have been , always will. All players are subject to injuries with you sign them, so its a risk you are taking when you sign any player. Teams for the most part sign players and pay them with the assumption that they will be healthy. Baron didn’t get that respect, but he should have he earned it. He played all 82 and will be in EVEN BETTER shape for next year and is just as suseptable to injury as any other players no more and no less. With that said, the logical conclusion is that, he was WORTH the big money. Not only as a player, but a general on the court, and a leader in the community and the lockeroom. Mullin dropped the ball, his arrogance just cost us another decade of losing. HEY MULLIN YOU CAN”T TREAT BARON LIKE HE IS MATT BARNES OR PIETRUS…straight incompetance.

Warriors Fans - Mullin The Moron

I have been a fan of the Warriors for the last 26 years and have not missed one game. Remember 3 years ago and the optimistic hopelessness that we always felt ? Today’s travesty with Baron Davis shatters the hopes of the past few years. Can you say “Re-Building ” ?
Baron’s tenure didn’t have to be long term; it needed to be regulated and orchestrated. Mullin’s wand is typically too short. He forgets the games suffered without Baron and the directionless feelings. Now, unless we are astounded with some gift from God, we will begin, again, another re-building era where we are awaiting a savior that will rescue us from mediocrity.

by MOHAWAKED on Jul 1, 2008 8:18 PM PDT   0 recs

Agree

Well, lets just say this. Baron did what most people would do while looking for job security. And he got burned. The team he helped make relevant again didn’t seem to think that he was worth it.

Here’s what I’m getting from all the Baron haters that just popped up: So when your employer treats you like a tool and ignore the prosperous years of your tenure, you’re supposed to just take it up the back chute and be happy. Please

To all the people out there that likes to throw out the injury card:
Had the Dubs cared about injuries do you honestly think they would have offered Gilbert Arena’s 100 mil for 5 years?

by gunwing54 on Jul 1, 2008 8:44 PM PDT   0 recs

I'm thinking

all the people on GSoM that hate Baron now never worked a day in their lives before. Unless you are self-employed, a worker is always looking for long-term job security and respect from his/her employers.

Baron received neither from the Warriors. They were never close in their contract talks and Mullin never saw this coming.

By offering Arenas long-term @ around 20 mil per before Baron agreed with the Clips, it was a profane slap in the face to Baron. Don’t hate on Baron, hate on management.

by misterjennings on Jul 1, 2008 9:33 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Seriously

The Warriors couldn’t have handled this worst, they dug this hole themselves (speaking of management).

by gunwing54 on Jul 1, 2008 11:09 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Agree

The W’s offered Agent O the money to avoid further embarrassment and to make their lowly fans believe hat they had something else up their sleeve.

Bright Future

I was very upset at first now I relaize we have 18 MILLION under cap. Hell we can add 2 very good players. Freakin Artest only wants 8 mill/per and Sacto will gladly trade him. That leaves us plety of cash for say a Lowry or Crittenton or how baout a trade with detriot for AL and Chauncey. That is doable. If someone would have offered Cahuncey Billups and Ron Artest you would have done it in a heart beat. Well my friends the Warriors knew this was going downa nd now can get 2 qulaity players for the price oof 1 Baron. I will miss him but when the dust settles this team could very well be better than it was before today.

by smearthebeard on Jul 1, 2008 8:54 PM PDT   0 recs

Sacto

will not gladly trade Artest to a division rival.

Artest does not only want 8 mil/per. He wants to show the league he is not selfish in order to land a long term big deal next offseason with a contender.

Cohan will not use the cash that Baron frees up. At least not for anyone worthwhile.

mullin is being mullin

he signed jrich, murphy and dunleavy, then traded them all away!!! and gave big bucks to fish and foyle!!! couldnt talk gil in staying! trust me.. his mistakes outweigh his production tenfold!

aka GOLDENBOYWARRIOR

by gogomaplata on Jul 1, 2008 9:49 PM PDT   0 recs

and aren't we still paying on the Foyle contract

to the tune of 9 million this next year? Another fine deal brought to you by Chris Mullin. Too bad we can’t trade him.

by centerre on Jul 1, 2008 9:55 PM PDT   0 recs

Mullin is still better

than Chris Wallace of the Griz haha

by misterjennings on Jul 1, 2008 9:56 PM PDT   0 recs

Hahaha

That depends…

If you’re a LA Fakers fan you’d think that he was the best GM since Jerry West.

by gunwing54 on Jul 1, 2008 11:11 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Mullin's next move ...

suitin’ Gary Payton in a dubs uni.

all ‘em heads pushin’ for a youth movement …
looks like the new era has begun.

wait

for next year when the free agent market goes crazy. We could easily serve a huge part in it…

by runeknightx on Jul 1, 2008 11:10 PM PDT   0 recs

idiot gm cheap a** owner

all he has done is get rid of dunleavey and murphys horrible contracts ( a miracle) and make a lucky 2nd round pick in monta ellis, and recently he has been even worse let the exception expire for nothing and did not get a point guard in the draft but instead he got a wright clone.. cohan is just as bad, most good teams go over the cap a little and pay the luxury tax but cohan wont even pay up to the cap

by JoshG831 on Jul 1, 2008 11:33 PM PDT   0 recs

I feel like an A's fan.

Wait, I am an A’s fan…

And Billy Beane trades away good players for…good players. I’ve yet to see him let go good players and not get anything in return.

by gunwing54 on Jul 2, 2008 12:10 AM PDT   0 recs

Typical Warriors

It all started when J-Rich got hurt and the team fared well without him, made the playoffs, 42 wins and then got traded. Baron doesn’t play for the 2nd half of the Suns game and the Warriors make a comeback but lose eventually. We win 48 games, no playoffs. So no Baron or J-Rich and 50+winsfor 08-09 Season? They must be smoking crack. If Warriors past history comes true then I would say within 3-5 years Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins get traded.

by djgrenaid on Jul 2, 2008 12:36 AM PDT   0 recs

C'MON WARRIORS FANS

this is typical to place the blame on someone when things don’t go YOUR way! so yah MULLIN gave out horrible contracts to DUNLEAVY and FOYLE, but he was also the one that orchestrated the trade to dump DUNLEAVY, MURPHY and DIOGU for JAX and TMNT! give the guy some credit and a break!

i love BARON, but honestly, had we offered him a max or even cheaper long-term deal, we would basically have the same team from last year (minus probably BARNES and PIETRUS)! so what does that mean? winning almost 50 games and still not making the playoffs, or getting bullied and knocked out of the playoffs by teams that can actually rebound! we all know that NELLIE won’t play the rookies, so even if we do have some new rooks that could possibly contribute, he’d run the vets and his favorites out day-in-day out until they dropped. given BARON’s history, he wouldn’t make it through another 82 games next year!

i’ve been a WARRIORS fan since i can remember and been a season ticket holder since 2002, and as much as i hate all this talk about “rebuilding”, that’s where we’re at (hopefully not for long). i think we need to continue to support last year’s slogan…”WE BELIEVE” or a new one…”FAITH”! i still believe in you MULLIN!!!

GO WARRIORS!!!
