Exclusive: Warriors Meeting with Josh Childress?

Following all of this crazy news, it seems as if the Warriors are potentially already meeting with restricted free-agent Josh Childress of the Atlanta Hawks. Childress was seen at a restaurant in the Bay Area on Wednesday night by numerous sources.

I currently have a picture of him with a friend of mine, but obviously, it's on his myspace and it's too late to get a picture from him at this hour.

Childress can be potentially a bargain at the mid-level exception, which is just about $6 million/year.

I hope to have another update soon.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Why would you sign Maggette and then go after Childress?

I would have rather gone after Childress… but beggars can’t be choosers. Childress is from Stanford… so the sightings in the Bay isn’t really anything.

It’s a new strategy for Nellie. He’s always seemed comfortable with multiple guard lineups. He’s going to try a new 5 guard or small forward lineup. In such a case, Maggs, Childress and Jax will be on the court together with Monta and Azubuike. When he “goes big” he can sub out one of them for forward playing center.

TK: Will you ever play Maggette at the 4?

Nelson “No”....I will be playing that dude with the big hair at the 4…

that would probably mean

goodbye to Buike, and Randolph would probably start the year in Bakersfield. Wouldnt Atlanta match with their MLE? dont see why they wouldnt.
