Maggette Injury Risk Nothing to Worry About

I really love the deal with corey maggette.I think he will come right in and make a huge impact on offense. I know that everyone says hes hurt all the time but cant we give the guy a shot? I mean we traded Speedy Claxton and Dale Davis  for this Injury prone PG named Baron Davis who stepped his game up in the right scenario.

Lets have faith and give Maggette a fair shot and not jump on the guy before he even joins the team.

Intentionally misleading

In regards to your thoughts on Maggette’s healthy: if it talks like a duck, and walks like a duck….it’s probably a duck.

Dude has NEVER, I repeat…NEVER, finished a full season. He’s not suddenly going to turn into Iron Man, and please don’t cite Baron’s “complete” season as proof that old dogs can learn new tricks because Baron limped through the end of the year and had nothing left in the tank, the only reason he was able to play in all 82 games is because they let him skip practices at will to rest.

So not pumped about this signing…

"Oooh, watch yo biceps Buk, watch yo biceps Bukie."

thats a scary "thought"

... dude never finished a season… just wow!

Biceps!

Damn, Mullin… Sign Buke’s biceps to a new contract already!

theres a big difference between...

Baron and Maggette injury wise. Baron played every game in his first 3 season until the injuries piled on. Maggette on the other hand, had a rollercoaster of injuries. The most games he played was 77, and that was his rookie year! I dont hate that we signed Maggette, but a 5yr 5mil contract is alot for a guy who is more injury prone than Baron IMO.

Corey

Maggette has never started more than 72 games in a year, and that’s his only one over 65.

Baron was getting hurt after years of health and being a starter- Maggette gets hurt coming off the bench. Baron’s lowest MPG in a close to full season (50+ games played) is higher than Maggette’s highest MPG, which was last season on a terrible team.

The difference

Boom was a point guard which we need and Magette is a scorer which we already have, taking a risk on something you need makes a lot more sense than taking a risk on something you already have?

Nelson style basketball is no joke!!

can Magette keep up with the nelson tempo without falling apart? Is This guy an injury waiting to happen? If he can stay healthy he’ll be an interesting addition to the team.
I have a feeling that the warriors line up (with Magette)is not as crappy as many think. we won’t know until we see them on the court together.

If i was a clipper

I’d be injured half the season too! If warriors suprise everyone and has a good season somehow I think his injuries won’t be as prevalent. also, MP was injured last year and his teamtes – namely sjax – called him out about taking too long to return. I hope that sjax continues to demand the best from his teamates, we will need him to step up bigtime this year.
Speaking of that, everyone is sweating monta on this site – as they should – but lets not forget to give love to sjax. he had all star numbers, played great defense on Bosh and others, was a leader on the court and off and was always fun to root for. What he lacks in talent and skills he makes up for in smarts and heart – he epitomizes our team that way.

Warrior fan for life - where we are "always just a big man away" from total domination
