what do you have against Beans?He sometimes plays too cautiously because he is constantly in foul trouble.He needed to remain on the floor as long as possible .With Turiaf as his back-up he can afford to be a little more physical( We can call them “pork’n’beans”).

Most general managers out there have an unwritten rule to never trade a big for a small unless the there’s a big difference in talent. billups is cool but he’s 30+ and beans is only 21 and he’s a pretty good shot blocker and rebounder for somebody that skinny playing in the west against a pool of really good bigs. if it does happen, wright wont be able to hold his own as a starter at center

thats a stupid trade. Biedrins is a “defensive liability” because he gets no calls adn has no PF. He is a way better rebounder than scorer he got 26 in one game last year, thats more than any points he scored in any game. Plus if we make this stupid ass trade we now have way too small of a lineup and no center.

Thats stupid. I wouldn’t even make that trade if it was AL for Billups. We dont need him, Monta is our pg. Get over it. Plus Billups is old and he’s not that great, we dont know what Ellis can do. Why trade a player who would normally just be coming out of college and already gets double doubles and can play center in our system just cause you’re afraid of Monta’s point skills? I like Billups but good centers are too much of a rarity in this league. We need Biedrins because the west is stacked with all-star caliber big men. The only way this trade would make sense is if we could somehow end up with Okafor, which I doubt would happen. But I’d do Harrington for Billups in a second.

it wont happen anyway ( i hope). we already made a deal like this before ( jamison for van excel)and saw how that worked out for us. beans is a good young big.he just needs to get alittle stronger so he can hold his own alittle better in the paint. he’s in the same mold as chandler and camby long, tall, thin and quick.

What I’m getting from this post is that Turiaf is the equal of Biedrins, that if a center averages 10 points he isn’t scoring enough (even though he shoots 60+%, extremely efficient, but obviously that’s not enough), that any center in the league could be as effective as Biedrins (because Turiaf is pretty much any center), that you would rather have a SF (Randolph) or a PF (Wright) play his position and that with a 32 year old Billups, we will be an instant championship contender (even though putting him in the starting lineup pushes Jackson or Maggette, who we just paid 50 million for, out).

Mullin is not DISCUSSING it. It was brought up to him by Dumars. As it says in the post, Mullin is offering Harrington. If Mullin takes this deal it will be one of the worst trades I can ever remember for the Warriors.

Being a competent basketball team will require not being as incredible shortsighted as accepting that trade would be. Unless the NBA suddenly folds, there is more than one basketball season ahead and always trying to get a quick fix is not the answer.

if we got billups for harrington our team would be just like it was last year except billups is slightly worse than baron and maggette would slide over into harrington’s spot. that would pose a huge matchup advantage for maggette as the other team’s 4 would have a tough time coming out to gaurd him especially with his ability to drive to the hole right around him! if we want a point, billups is a great option and harrington + a protected 1st rounder in like, 2010 would be awesome!

Billups is good, but we’re not sacrificing Andris. It’s not on the roadmap.

What I mean is, we’ve already committed to trying Monta at our PG - like it or not. Getting a starting PG right now will blow our positioning out of whack. If Monta plays 2, who plays 3? Based on our lineup, if we’re going to trade anyone right now it’s either a 2,3 or 4, but NOT a 5. Not in the West. Not unless we have another fantastic fill-in already lined up. And I like Turiaf, but come on - he’s not a starting center.

It’s a lot better than he’s getting credit for here… the whole running out of the way thing was because he couldn’t get in foul trouble since Don Nelson didn’t trust any of AB’s back-ups. As a side note it actually works a lot of the time too because a lot of guys in the NBA drive looking for contact first, and when they expect the defender to make contact and the defender steps away it throws off their shot.

Biedrins for Billups – no way. Al + whatever for Billups – of course but why would Detroit do that.

trade B Wright before Biedrins. All Biedrins has done is improve every year hes in the league and like everyone has pointed out hes only 22. I like Billups but if we get him, then that means Jack, Maggette or Monta would have to come off the bench which none of them would likely be to open to doing or we would have to go real small, which Nellie could do but Im not sure how much better that makes us. But I guess we’ll see what happens here, but Biedrins is gonna be with the Dubs next year putting up something at least like 13 and 11 hopefully if he continues to keep improving.

Sarangc, is that the Pistons want Biedrins, the warriors are offering Harrington. Nowhere does it even mention that the warriors are “talking” about trading Biedrins for Billups. NOWHERE! Of course the Pistons want Biedrins. That trade is a steal for them. In three years Billups is going to be expensive and playing on his last legs. Biedrins, meanwhile, will be a top ten center, reasonably cheap and in his prime.

If you need evidence which shows he bails on almost every play to the hole, pop in any game from this season and your evidence is right there. The reason I don’t offer any concrete evidence is because they don’t keep stats like “bailing out”, my observation is the only evidence I can offer, and I can tell you since I don’t like the guy my eyes are always glued to him on the defensive end so im not making this stuff up. How long have you been a Piston’s fan. The worst thing about blogging is that it gives any fool a platform to spew BS. If you were a Warriors fan, actually watched a game or two you would know Biedren’s value to the team. Few centers can run the floor, block shot’s and not require 20 touches but still bring in a double double night in/out. Fool!
