POB a Celtic: All you need to know about Nelson...
He wasn't "good enough" to earn even minimal rookie playing time with the lottery pick Warriors, but he's good enough to play for the World Champs. (They're obviously dumber than the Warriors.)
Will we ever see a real Center play for this team? Not as long as it's a Nellie coached team.
They will always score points. But they will always be "too small" to be serious playoff contenders. It's the fun, and the curse, of Nellieball.
Good luck to POB in Beantown.

POB.......
Hopefully KG whips his ass in practice…..........maybe he will learn about work ethic and commitment cause he sure didnt know about it when he was here…............Well i guess the Boston NBDL team has got a starting center
Ellis to the rim!

I agree with you
KG has done it before, he knocked out a young guy in practice in Minnesota, knocked him right off the summer league roster lol. Celtics are 1 and done. Randolph could be a better KG in a few years.

ummmmmm
so it’s don nelson’s fault that POB is slow and weak, and the celtics needed a 3rd/4th string big? yeah…
I'm keen on the professional basketball club The Golden State Warriors. I don't fancy other clubs.

Yah, because before he came back the Ws were dominating down low
Bring back Brian Winters and Eric Dampier.
All you need to know about Nelson???
- 12 years
- The Dallas series
- 48 wins
- Fun to watch
- 2nd winningest coach ever
- Funny as hell
- Exciting, watchable basketball
Seriously, bring back Montgomery and Ike Diogu so we can return to the glory days.
Not to mention the fact that the Celtics have to bargain shop due to the fact that 3 players make $60,216,333 next season.
Storage is for business, or for family.

Couldn’t this have been a comment in the previous POB/Celtics thread?
It never occurred to me that one man could play with the faith of 50 million.

I know we got rid of Dampier and he turned out to be a real superstar!
POB was marginal in NBDL last year. What a waste of 2mill/yr. Great pick up Celts!

I don't think POB is that bad...
He’ll be a serviceable player. The guy is young and I think he’ll play well for Boston. The Warriors have not been good evaluators of centers in a while.

Now POB
is gonna challenge playing time from Leon “The Show” Powe. POB’s career high in points is 10 and Leon Powe’s career high is 27 and had 21 points in a Finals game. If Doc Rivers plays POB more than Powe in any game, im will kill somebody.
i hope we win a championship soon

WAsted Talent
POB has talent. I see this as another instant where a player we drafted will succeed for another team or at least be a contributor. System wise Nelly is about winning now not developing. He can say he will do things differently but a leopard doesn’t change his spots. Good coaches can get in players heads and use different methods to motivate players to develop and succeed ie. positive reinforcement. I think that would be in total conflict with the my way or the highway approach Nellie uses. We couldn’t have signed POB to a 2 year minimum contract? That’s BS. POB can develop into a good player with positive coaching and playing time, something I don’t think he was afforded in his tenure at Golden State. I like POB but he was drafted for the wrong system and coach. If Cowans was still hear perhaps we would have seen a deiffent outcome. Good luck to him and the Celtics.

Could we have signed the POB to a 2 year min contract? Probably not. If there was any interest in POB from somewhere else, why would he have signed a two year min contract here? Apparently there was interest, so he wasn’t going to come back.
He appeared to be off of Nellie’s radar and had just spent two years where he wasn’t getting any playing time at all. There’s no reason for him to stick around.
