Shawn Marion Rumors
There are reports from the Miami Herald that Warriors are one of the more active teams involved in trade talks for Shawn Marion. Marion's contract expires after this upcoming season, and the reports suggest that although the Heat would like to keep his expiring contract to push for Boozer next year, Warriors are in the mix to offer Harrington who has two more years left. The Heat are asking, however, also to include Biedrins in the package as a sign and trade. I wanted to know what you guys thought about the trade. Harrington and Biedrins for Marion. Our team would look take a much smaller roster, but it'd be a lightening fast team.
1.Monta (Watson)
2.S Jacks (Belinelli)
3. Maggette (Buike, Randolph)
4. Marion (Hendrix)
5. Wright

Dang It
Everyone wants Biedrins. We can’t trade him. He’s our only starting quality center.

From a recent thread...
Add Turiaf’s front loaded contract…
to Al’s -> then look for another teams big contract that matches – maybe expiring? Not saying this will happen, but there are options…

Me too, I don’t know why the ever Suns let him go. I’d trade any player we have not named Baron for Marion.

Marion was traded because....
...he became a cranky player on the Suns and their front office peeps decided enough was enough, according to the ESPN folks. If the W’s were to trade for him, i suppose this would be a one-year lease for the guy…??? Marion is still looking for a team who’s willing to give him a monster contract extension. Is he worth the monster extension? Thoughts on that…?

For us,
I think he is. He rebounds, plays excellent defense, is athletic, can shoot the rock… If we got him our frontline would be scary.

Member Lasme?
I wonder if the heat could throw in Stephane Lasme. We drafted him in the second round last year, never really gave him a shot. He’s a monster on the boards and defense. We can build on him and Hendrix.
by honkiehonk on Jul 13, 2008 10:28 AM PDT 0 recs
They cannot throw in Lasme. He’s a free agent. He is not under contract presently.

Rebounding is already an issue
We’re gonna get eaten up even more in the paint if we were to give up beans. Everyone has their own opinion though. I’m just expressing mine.

it wont happen
that will make us too small up front. i’d rather give wright and al instead of biedrins. besides, matrix makes too much money. we wont be able to afford him after we sign monta and FA’s
by SIZE 15 on Jul 13, 2008 11:11 AM PDT 0 recs
we could afford him
if we give up AB + Al

i agree with the treade 100%
first of all wright is not a center at all, he would get murdered more then biedrins down there, so we would have to start turiaf for sure and if we still have al where is he in the line up last year was not his best offensive year but torwards the end he was a great rebounder and the playoff year he shot 46% from 3’s in the season! but yes i would instantly trade biedrins for marion we would just have to have turiaf start at center then

How bout we get Marion by
Trading Al and any other player not named Biedrins, Jackson, Ellis. Those three are our core. If we could get marion for Al and wright or Al and Maggette that would be cool. We need Biedrins and although Marion is more of a PF than AL, he is still a better three. It would be better to have Monta, Jax, Marion, Wright, Biedrins. However this trade isn’t going to happen. Miami wants more than we are going to give. AL some picks and Bellinelli would be ultimate, I’d almost be down for AL and Randolph, but he’s gonna be pretty good. I would say forget the Marion talk and if you want a starting PF we should save money and players and work a sign and trade for Josh Smith. Better D and rebounding than Marion, and with our lineup D is worth more than O right now

Denver needs AL
They jost lost Najera who turned into a pretty important player off the bench to come in and shoot three’s. Which i found crazy cuz i remembewr najera, didnt know he had a 3 game, but he does. Anyway Al would be an improvement over Najera, and we could throw in picks or Belli and get Nene or K-Mart. That would be sick

denver needs cap space
a deal with denver would need to involve a 3rd team. we dont have enough cap room to eat the salaries they would be trying to dump on us. but there are possibilities to work a deal for one of there bigs

No Way
Biedrins is already set to be a captain next year and is untouchable. He is a center to build around. Averaging almost a double double the last two seasons, Biedrins is easily one of the best young centers in the NBA. Also, Maggette is a great lockermate and a workout warrior. He can show the young warriors how to act and train in the NBA. Lasly, Marion has an attitude problem, he always wants money and doesn’t care about his team. If I were Chris Mullin, I would denounce this trade idea and lock up Biedrins for many years to come.

no FRicKIN way
sometimes a sacrifice has to be made to improve a team.I do not think this is the sacrifice we should be making. Beans has a bright future.IF we did this it will haunt us.

I wouldn’t trade a 22 yr old center for a 30 yr old one year rental.

1 year rental!
22-year old, relatively cheap, very good center > cranky but very good, overpaid, 1 year rental

i'd like marion
but not for biedrins. if they’d take wright + picks instead i’d do that in a heartbeat
by AJC3317 on Jul 13, 2008 3:08 PM PDT 0 recs
not even sure I'd do that...
Wright’s only going to get better, and Marion’s going to slowly decline. I say be patient and give BW another year before we give up on him… No way we’re going to want to pay Marion what he’s going to want in a year anyway, so it’s not worth the one-year lease…

Not Beans...
The W’s could always use a player like Marion. He can play 1-4 and rebounds like dudes 5 inches taller then him. With that said giving up Beans isn’t the smartest idea…I’d rather send em Al, Hendrix and a 2nd round draft pick (not sure if those numbers work out, someone lemme know). Then you’re looking at a starting 5 of Ellis, Jax, Maggette, Marion, and Beans (with Wright, Randolph, Belli, Buke, Watson and Turiaf on the bench) and all is well in the Bay.
