Buike, Dooling & Crittenton...

Here is the latest word on Kelenna. Will the Dubs make a play for him or are they going to let him walk?? Would it help our cause by doing a sign and trade with Kelenna?

Kelenna Story: http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=9473

Dooling/ Crittenton Story: http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080715/SPORTS/807150321/1002/SPORTS

Another story that I came across has been the ongoing dialog with the Magic and Dooling. Are the Dubs really considering Dooling for our squad?? There are way better options out there. I wish the Dubs would be a little more smarter about who the sign and who they are persuing. Maggette is a fine wing player but you could have spent that money 5yrs/ 50Mil in a different way. We are gonna be on the hook for Ellis and Biedrins for about 50 mill apiece. Why lockdown a tweener player in Maggette for that much? Why not spend it on someone who can dominate a certain posistion? Could we have offered a contract to Okafor? Who else could we have turned to? Smith, Iggy or just hold onto the cash and wait for our unicorn to come?

I'm not sure if the management that we currently have, has the vision that we need. We have seen Mullin pull some good trades but that only works part of the time. To establish yourself as a quality team or franchise, you have to evaluate everything Current salary situation, future salary situation, FA possibilities and possible trades. What direction are we truely heading for??? If all we have to show for it is Maggette, then we are really in for a long long season.

Nellie, strike up that cigar and have a brew on me. This is getting ugly!!

stop being a warriors fan

the lack of optimism is making me sick.

if kelenna isnt on the warriors next year it wont be because “we let him go” it’ll be cuz he chose to go. he wants to be a starter and he wont be one on this team. get over it

yeah hes going to be good but to keep him we’re gonna have to give him a starter’s paycheck which would be a stupid idea since he wont be one

how much is a starters paycheck?

if you think he’s going to be good why would it be stupid to resign him? i think it would be stupid for mully to let him go and watch him get better with someone else. its not a max deal we would be talking about or a 10 mil deal. it would be most likely less than a mle. imo

But then again

if he does want to become a starter it won’t be happening anytime soon due to the fact that we have great players backing up our starters already. IMO I probably will play Marco Belinelli more this upcoming season rather than Buike anyways just because of his pure shooting touch and yes I understand that Marco has not proven himself but he does have that shooting finesse that not many players have. Buike would then be what an alternating 2/3 where Maggette is already going to most likely start but I guess I could see him being the back up 3 unless Nelly really does want to play our R AR at that position which IMO would be better because I believe that AR looks pretty ready to handle the NBA in his current state he has a much stronger looking frame than that of Kevin Durant so I’m sure AR will be fine.

Stop crying about it alright?!?! GO MULLIN.

Have we thrown in some nick names for

Anthony Randolph yet? So many new posts… but yea… the “dolph” part in his last name makes me wanna draw something “Drago” -like!

Its funny

How some people are on Azuibuke, Watson, and Kosta’s nuts, these guys are not that good, lets be real. There likely career backups at best, now if you guys are so in love with the d-league players, you should go to the Bakersfield Jam State of Mind blog page…...

+1

I like BUKE…his game, his demeanor, his poise, but I agree that he’s probably going to be a career back-up. What team would start him over who they currently have now? Let me rephrase that, what team would PAY him to start over who they currently have now? EXACTLY!!!

We definitely have guys capable of “backing up” our starters right now. You only really need bench players when your starters go down, so let’s not go overboard and OVERPAY* yet another player.

*NOTE: Although I think we overpaid MAGGS, I do think he’s a damn good player! Hopefully he does do good for our team!

GO WARRIORS!!!

I wouldn’t lump KAz with Watson and Kosta. Azubuike gave pretty much league average off guard performance last year. Average is not bad. A player who is an average NBA contributor as a backup is a good thing. He’s much above your average D-league talent. He plays considerably better than many guys drafted in the first round.

Watson wasn’t nearly as good.

Kosta didn’t play much. His first game looked good, but I think he left it all on the court in those 6 or 7 minutes. He was gassed for the rest of the season and never managed to get back his early form.

lets be real.

Yes, Let’s Buki has actually performed in the NBA and not just college or summer league. He’s proven that he can step in and replace a starter at more than one position with little drop off in team quality. That’s a pretty good thing to have for insurance, better than some unproven rookies or euro league wannabe?

Question

Does anyone know if there is a deadline that a RFA (restricted free agent) has to sign by?

It's all about the killer cross-over baby!

"member when the guy wrote "more smarter" in his post?

that reminds me of magic johnson on tv saying ‘also too’ every other sentence. also too, it may not be necessary for the dubs to sign bukakke, but saying he’s probably a career backup is redicuous. if guys like willie green, deshawn stevenson, mo evans, fred jones, etc. can start in this league at the 2, you can bet your ass bukakke can. and please don’t compare him to belinelli as if the were even in the same basketball universe. one is exclusively a catch and shoot player, and the other is an athletic freak with a developing all-around game and a little something people in the real world call ‘intelligence’. in other words, he’s more smarter.

I'm keen on the professional basketball club The Golden State Warriors. I don't fancy other clubs.
